That was a crap rumor.
The new series in STAR WAR REBELS, set between Episodes 3 and 4.
Said to be based on or influenced by Star Wars concept art.

I found myself in a discussion the other day with some buddies and I basically ripped on Star Wars pretty hard. I didn't expect myself to be saying some of the things I was, but it was the truth. Truth is, I don't think I can care about Star Wars anymore. Life's better without it.

Oh boy, I think Star Wars needs to go to some new place. I'm tired of any stories that takes place in any part of Ep1-6.
We know the story. Luke never stops believing and Anakin finds a measure of personal redemption. The Emperor is defeated. The end. There is nothing else to cover there.

Ultimate problem is that currently everything depends on mass appeal recognition. That's why Star Trek had a reboot with the original cast. And why Batman and Spider-Man franchises restart, rather than making lesser known heroes into movies instead.
It's why GI JOE toys/comics/movies will never have all new characters.

That is a problem. People are more interested in heroes as icons rather than heroes as characters.

Doesn't look half bad  I like the Tie-Fighters with the vintage toy wings. Been saying they should have used them in the prequels since the 90's. I kind of hope they go back one day and edit the hell out of the prequels. Replace Anakin altogether, make the spaceships more relevant to the classic Star Wars universe, replace Count Dooku with Darth Maul, but that's probably not going to happen. I suppose a clever and talented fan could do it. |

I liked Dooku, but I didn't like they spent better part of 2 hours leading up to his introduction only to kill him off in the first 15 minutes of the next movie (probably because Grievous sells more toys than some really old man.) In fact, Dooku should've been in Episode 1, expressing his sadness at Qui-Gon's death and his contempt towards the Jedi Council. But that would've required the movies to have had more thought put into them.

Rebels Season 3 trailer. Wedge and Y-Wings and I see the Outrider but no Dash Rendar. Also, the rumors a certain EU baddie appearing are true!
