I've been checking out a couple youtube reviews for the U-wing and the TIE-Striker.
The TIE-Striker just looks awful. I see why the Empire stopped using them. |
The U-wing is almost straight out of Buck Rogers. It would be okay with normal engines, but they stuck X-wing engines on it...and the wing expansion feature is pretty stupid.
Overall, I'm still glad I don't collect the new Star Wars stuff.

The U-Wing is supposed to be a troop carrier. The toy holds one figure.
Somehow it's a $50 toy.
The TIE Striker is $40.
Everything costs at least 30% more than it should be. Star Wars sites used to gripe about fans waiting for clearance. Now days, who can blame them?

I'm excited to see the movie (has a Dirty Dozen vibe), just don't care for the toys.

Unannounced Wal-Mart exclusive AT-ST...$60, they are saying. I've had my fill with the K-Mart ones I got mostly on clearance years ago. This one doesn't have the slash mark on the front, though, not sure what else.

I would pass. Vehicles are a rip-off, stick to figures. I can't emphasize this enough.

Yeah, $60 is too much. $45 in 2009 was too much for something that could've been mass released in the $25 range.
The ones i have fall over because of the legs, but I've heard that's better than the first two releases whose legs break off.

I don't own those AT-ST's but I think I used to. If you want to try and fix them, you could probably just apply some super glue to the weak part of the joints. It's better if you can take them apart first.
