Well, Snake Mountain arrived today :-) And it's huge. Bigger than I expected. It's like stupid big  It's taller than my dresser...and wider, almost the same depth. Thoughts, The exterior has the most FUN factor and is clearly the best way to be displayed... unless you have enough space to display the interior too. I'm still not a fan of how small the blood falls are, but it looks pretty good. Good luck putting figures on the stairs, SM is a tough climb. My biggest gripe is how the neck of the snake vanishes behind the gate. So, I'm going to hang a piece of black cloth behind the gate...should make it look more like a dark cave. The interior could use some tweaking, there's a prison cell with an open wall, and a breakable wall. Skeletor needs to work on security more. The real treats from this beast are the accessories.... The throne looks amazing. Although it really needs to sit on an extra step for Skeletor to sit properly. I saw a video where someone used vintage and Origins Skeletors on it, and they sat with no problems. The orb table is epic. The only Filmation MOTU figures I have are Skeletor and Beastman, but they look cool with it :-) I've heard one guy compare it to the USS Flagg in terms of collectablity. He's right, it's a rare beast. |

Wellll... that's quite a way to start the new years, Felix. Probably one of the GOAT modern playsets. I wish I could have gotten one, I've seen it displayed with Origin figs, and they look great with it. But hopefully eventually the original gets a version for the line.

Origins would look great on it.
Even the walkway up is way too small for Classics, I guess nobody said getting into Snake Mountain would be easy :-)
I already stuck an old black beanie hat behind the gate at the top.
It works great. Gives it the dark cave look, and my mind isn't wondering where the snake body went.
I apologize for no pics, need to get some batteries for the camera.

 A friend tracked these down for me. Think they were Target exclusives. Updates on older Rogue/Gambit figures. They look great. I almost wish I could afford two copies of them, so I could keep one on card, but even getting these was a stretch. |

Retro Toy Biz cards are neat, even if you have to damage the package to get the figure.
I have to say the character Gambit never did anything for me.

Gambit is kind of a guy who was ripped from a romance novel. He's more a female's vision of a romantic lead. Wolverine is more a guy's guy by contrast. But I never had a problem with Gambit. And he's from my home state. When Marvel Comics went woke in 2016, Rogue and Gambit was one of the few things not ruined by them. You can look at their adventures and they have a healthy relationship without any of this political stuff that ended up making the characters annoying, sexless, joyless. |

Newest figures... retro Joes... Scarlett and Destro. Strange... they came from the same place, but packaged differently by Walmart. One came packaged well in a box with padding (Scarlett),while Destro was in a bad envelop. lol Destro's bubble was damaged. I guess I don't care too much as I plan on opening them, but still. I do think Scarlett is probably the best if someone was going to keep it MOC.  |

 There's two defects on this figures. the back of Destro collar has a small indent and there's a paint defeat on the red on the leg of Scarlett. Ah well. There's good and bad with both these figures. Destro can't really hold the build a gun easily. However, it can be said its not really a personal weapon, rather stuff to show off when trying to sell weapons. Scarlett's head is stuck looking slightly down and her webgear doesn't rest well on her because of the molded belt on the figure causing issues where you snap the webgear at her waist. I do think this Scarlett looks like a solider, the old 25th Ann figure had a anime deal going on. This Destro is better than the 50th Ann figure. Better paint apps and better plastic. Give both these figures B's. |
