Just wanted to use some of the "newer" figures back then with older vehicles.

I really think they'd go well with the Hiss II perhaps. Or maybe I'm wrong. LOL
Alley Vipers seem more at home in the Rage I think.

Yeah, not a permanent vehicle for them, RAGE is the way to go.
There's just something that really appeals to me seeing the later Joe's using older vehicles & battle stations.
In the old comics they advertised a HISS tank and had a toxo-viper driving and an Iron Grenadier.
The Iron Grenadier looked really good with the HISS, hmmmm.

I always go the rule of 2 years: The figures and designs are too different if you go beyond 2 years in either direction. Hiss Tank came out in 83, so 82/83/84/85 Cobras look correct riding in or on the back of a Hiss Tank, a Crimson Guard from 85 is fine with it. While a Cobra Viper in 86 would look odd. He'd be more visually good riding in a Cobra Stun or a Cobra Maggot in 87.

Stun is an odd vehicle, and Motor-Viper is kind of an odd figure, but damn if Stun doesn't look good fully manned by them.

So, one thing I was trying to do in some of those pics was show off the small tray on the bottom, the one with the really small slots, it's perfect for individual gear, I really like that a lot...like the figures have their own lockers :-)
I love how the smaller slots on the top tray are perfect for battle stands, but I really love how they work for the animal companions :-)
And the side opposite the figures has trays big enough for vehicle parts or even filecards, really cool.
It's also just really nice to have enough space on the bottom to stand figures up in when the box is closed! I may superglue some battle stands in place at some point.
I really like Steam Roller and Secto-Viper more than I thought I would :-)
