According to material to come out recently by Disney Star Wars. Star Wars Confirms Rey's Force Heal Freed Kylo Ren From The Dark SideDumb. Dumb Dumb. Here I thought it had to do with him facing up to things he did (his self-convo with Han Solo). Guess its more special powers from Rey. So, why not just use this power on any dark side user? (the best way to make this make sense is Rey gave him a handjob during the force healing scene, and he being a simp he is, that got him to chance sides, lol).

If only Luke had learned this power, he could've healed Anakin.
That proves Rey is a Sith since Palpatine said to Anakin that you couldn't learn to save people from dying from a Jedi. Not that Palpatine can be trusted. Since he lied and knew himself how to cheat death (Palpatine isn't stupid enough to kill his master before learning his greatest secret). It was a carrot to lure Anakin, but Palpatine knew Padme had to die for Anakin to give in totally to the dark side. It was a calculated risk by saying "Only one knew such power...", because temperamental Anakin could've just easily said "LIAR!" and beheaded Palpatine then and there. But Anakin had already gone too far...
I don't give Palpatine as much credit as others do. Getting disfigured wasn't part of his plan; Mace Windu really did have him cornered. Anakin nearly dying wasn't, either. Luke nailed Palps when he said overconfidence was his weakness.

The suquels (see what I did there?) are a poor attempt at empowering women...which is clearly the agenda/message they are pushing.
I don't like the messages that are being brought forth in them, not sure I would want my kids to watch those movies.
Han is murdered by his son.
Kylo attempts to kill his mother...(I mean seriously, what's so great about the dark side, that it would make you do these things?)
Luke is a quitter and drinks directly for a gross aliens tit for blue milk...not what I was expecting from Jedi Master Skywalker.
The Millennium Falcon is apparently indestructible. Empire Strikes Back made it feel vulnerable and quite susceptible to failure.
R2-D2 is replaced by a ball...and that's about the only thing that worked well.
Poe, Rey, and Finn all look like they are too excited to be in Star Wars.
Rey never commits to any one man and has multiple romantic partners with Poe, Finn, and Kylo. It brings new meaning to the word, "trilogy".

Admiral Ackbar and Nein Nunb die because screw alien characters. They are only for sight gags and exposition that raise more questions than answers (what's her name I cannot remember).

As a kid, watching the first three movies... ANH works as a stand alone. Obi does enough so you understand the force, and the villains explain the political climate in their meeting in the Death Star.
Empire gives you the reveal, cliff hanger, and the idea of Vader eying the idea of toppling his Emperor.
In Return, Vader feels pretty pacified by the Emperor... until the last point. Without spelling out the idea of the Sith, as it is in future Star Wars, we get the cycle. Either the master is toppled or the apprentice is cast aside. Palp didn't look like he had any attention of ever stepping aside. I assumed as a kid his appearance was a result of dark side powers keeping him alive. That's how I viewed him as a child.
Back to this Rey stuff, it's dumb. I actually thing the brain trust really fucked up. You destroy Star Wars, what you replace it with better be well received. Oops. Rey wasn't.
The other thing, have these fools not seen Harry Potter? Jedi Academy tropes would have done well. The idea of school tropes mashed with this fantasy stuff... young people like that idea. A kid dreams of being a wizard, a jedi, a hero, etc.

I cannot imagine any kids wanting to be any of the sequel characters. Not even Poe. LOL.
They fell flat when it came to secondary villains. General Hux is like they combined every Imperial officer from the original trilogy into one Ultimate Fail Character. General Pryde (of the X-men?) showing up in TRoS is like a Tarkin in reverse order...the snide loyalist appears in the final movie where he won't make an impact.
Captain Phasma, imagine if Boba Fett was an imperial, a woman and sucked at her job.
Non-First Order? Unkar Plukett...his follow scene was cut, so forget him.
DJ...NOT EVEN NAMED ONSCREEN. He gets away with his treachery, too. But also, he's not memorable and a terrible selling toy. 5 Belows still have many of him.
The criminal guys on Han's big ship (which somehow only needs a 2 man crew)...meh.

Finn is treated like a joke. Poe is lectured and gets shot down by his old flame? Was it his old flame? Can't remember. Rey is too 'perfect' and there's no family element to make her relatable. The women like Admiral Pink Hair and Rose Tico are lecturing nags. C3PO might... and I say might be the one character in Disney Wars worth a damn. Chewie just looks pathetic as window dressing for Rey.
I think... the moment Rey and Finn stumble across Han/Crime pirates/cgi tentacle monsters, that's the moment Disney-Wars starts going down hill. From that moment on we are in complete New Hope rehash. Before, at least we had a different vibe with Finn/Rey off on adventure on their own.
As for the villains, one thing I'd say, Rain Johnson apparently disregarded all of JJ's notes. Smoke was played as a benevolent villain boss/dad for Hux and Kylo in Force. Hux handled the military side, Kylo the Sith stuff. Smoke wanted the First Order to succeed and needed them two working well. Well... fuck all that. Johnson wants to do CW/Twilight-lite stuff with Kylo and Rey... Smoke is turned into an overbaring asshole in the second movie feels more in common with Mouser from Police Academy 2 and 3. You are just waiting/wanting the hammer to fall on him. Hux is reduced to a buttmonkey (I am convinced the new First Order guy in Rise is the 'replacement' Hux to stand in as JJ intended Hux). The your mamma joke was a warning shot to how Last was gonna go (first time I saw it, the film making quality kind of tricked me into thinking it was 'good').
Should have just stuck with the general beats of EU/Legacy... the twins Jacen and Jaina, Mara Jade, etc. Seems like the smart people at LF are trying to get the EU stuff that matters in. But the problem is... what is next for Star Wars on the big screen? No one cares about Rey "Skywalker" going forward. There's people holding out hope some sort of time deal with make this stuff a alt-verse story. I tend to think the damage is done. They had one shot to get the old crew together, pass the torch. They missed that chance as Carrie is dead.
DJ is such a fucking lazy name. But he did win... I guess. And got the fuck outta dodge. Good for him. LOL

I forgot to add my biggest gripe, is that they made Yoda burn books.
Yes, at the end of the film we see Rey has the books still... however, the viewer has believed through half of the film that Yoda actually torched the Jedi Bible.
That's really messed up.

I know we are all just rehashing old gripes... but the thing about a force ghost impacting the living plane in general annoys me Obi to Luke, "I can not interfere" .... wrong people got ahold of the property.
