Never read the original TMNT comics, this is great. I watched/read with the volume turned down. The violence is rather shocking.

Its a parody of Frank Miller's Daredevil, so the violence actually isn't shocking. LOL
The back&white artwork is stunning.

Yeah, most guys has a young childhood/teen crush, but to be obsessed with the same 'images' at a much later stage in life, to seek them out at a con, buy high priced photos, get them signed, lol, make sure they 'understand' some boundaries are being crossed there. Of course, female girls have their own fantasies, Twilight type stuff, boy bands, etc. Its all part of growing up. But they were at cons making a buck and they knew a large part of their appeal was their bodies and their imprint on pop culture. Its like a playmate bunny being outraged people objectify them. I dunno if I had any childhood/teen celeb crushes. Late bloomer...actually I skipped blooming and went to wilting. I get the specifics images being burnt into an developing mind, though. Some things stick with you (good or bad). I wouldn't seek the ladies out later in life for autographs and creepily praise them or whatever. But like Felix wrote, that could've been something that kept him going and not necessarily in the beat-off sense. Women like to talk about love and ideal romance but then dismiss all men's fantasies as gross.

Splinter - Stick Foot - Hand
Its wild how quickly this IP took off and they (Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird) understood the history of comic creators getting screwed in deals, so they looked up some entertainment lawyer to help them as they made deals to leverage the IP (toys, cartoon, t-shirts, etc). This was the first time in history a comic book IP this large came outside Marvel/DC.

Haven't taken a pic of the new comics I got in, but ...
Destro #3, excellent comic
SPOILERS
So, we got Chameleon vs Destro outside his family tomb and Destro is trying to figure out about her, Overkill is providing her support. And there's this deal where she's a person of little words. "Stop talking, you're making it weird" she tells Destro.
Cut to Scrap Iron and Mercer looking over the dud bomb that didn't go off back in #1 during the arms sell. The tech in general these people are using is so advanced. Mercer is able to come to a conclusion. It wasn't the Twins behind the attack, so we are left wondering who is really trying to kill Destro. And it does make sense, if Twins really had the kind of tech we see on display with those bombs, Chameleon, they wouldn't need to fold MARS into EE. Destro/Twins feud is all a misunderstanding and they got into a pissing match for no real reason (the Twins did say them getting blamed in #2 was a false flag by Destro, dismissed it as a lie at the time, but their conclusion makes sense if they had nothing to do with it).
Someone else is trying to kill Destro, but we don't know who. Cobra Commander? Just made an alliance with him in the pages of Cobra Commander mini-series? Darklon, eh, don't see it. Dr. Mindbender hasn't been introduced yet. That's the only unseen person I can think of.
Destro does manage to escape and does a pretty smart thing. Turns himself over to the US Gov, and it goes up and up the chain, and I thought it'd be Hawk he is talking to, but no, its General Flagg. And Destro's bit of leverage to make sure he's not put in prison, the US gov does buy weapons from MARS.
We also get the standard backstory on Destro's family, sold weapons to both sides of the English Civil War, put in a mask, etc.
The plot twist is pretty clever and I'm trying to think who could really be behind trying to kill Destro. Hmmmm

My questions:
Where is the Baroness? Did he piss her off again? Is she jealous of Chameleon? She seems to always have a LOT of issues.
Zartan and him never got along in the cartoon. But in the comic book, they were friends sometimes.
Major Bludd impersonated him and stole his castle in the original comic series. Maybe he is finally getting revenge?
Probably the biggest clue is the advanced tech that was used...maybe Dr. Mindbender is behind it, him being a scientist... Perhaps there is only room for one baldy in COBRA?
Cobra Commander tends to be behind most things. The assassination plot didn't succeed...and he tends to fail at almost everything he tries, so maybe.
I am curious to see how it plays out, keep us posted!

This video is well worth listening to. The Maker, who I have not read ever, but is quite a interesting villain. I might have to get ahold of some of the stuff with him in it.

Destro spoilers:
So, the third party trying to kill Destro: It was Overkill. Chameleon, her company, had developed Overkill as a peace-bringing AI that turned itself on and went into orbit. So, they haven't been partners so much, more like she's been having to follow its lead. Anything it sees as a threat to the world, eventually it will turn its eyes to. Destro and her hash things out while he's in hiding. Darklon, dirtbag that he is, sells MARS to the twins when Destro is presumed dead and Twins make a deal with Cobra Commander. Of course, in the final issue, Destro returns and he along with his three soldiers (Mercer, Scrap Iron, and Chameleon) are able to upstage the Twins. But he says we all need to align in any case given that androids from space are here. His long term goal is to take Cobra from CC when the time is right. He and Chameleon are an item and he does shoot a nuke to take out Overkill. Oh, and as punishment, he gives Darklon as nice hot mask (you'll start doing right by our family, cousin, yikes, lol).
Twins have the fill each other gimmick from the toon during their fight with Destro.
Scarlett mini-series: ehhh... turns out is was all about a damn sword, an energon-crafted sword I guess? Storm Shadow ends up with it at the end of the series. This is objectively the worst mini-series. It did not make much of an impression compared to Duke, Cobra Commander and Destro's.
I've heard good things about thier GIJoe #1, we'll see next month.

Darklon never had the right Iron Grenadier look.
Mercer working for Destro...what happened to Red Dog, Slaughter, Taurus?
Energon sword, next thing you know, Scarlett will be shouting, "Í HAVE THE POWER!"

According to the guy who came up with Darklon, he was inspired by the Predator. Original designer had him with a mane of hair but he left Hasbro and whoever finished the final work went another direction.
