Super 7's GI JOE Reaction and Ultimates

Rumours were true...of course. These just show how Hasbro has dropped the ball. They could be making cartoon versions of characters in 6 and 4 scales. They could be making 5 point articulated junk! (That's depressing, finally getting early Baroness correct but it's going to be a $18 5 POA release)



It's odd to do 3 MASS Device characters and one season 2 troop builder. But that's Super 7.

Yeah, there's a lot of untapped things that could be done in GIJoe lore. This stuff.. I will pass on collecting. I can barely afford what I am collecting as is.

I hate the 5 point articulation on G.I.JOE.

Love that they nailed the look though, even gave Destro a puffy collar!


The 6" line looks good...Cobra Commanders emblem is too small though.

The Ultimates are 7 inchers, though, aren't they? Heck, you'd know. That makes them frustrating for 6 inch fans.

They are 7 inch. So, they'd only work with other Ultimates or whatever other 7 inch line is out there.

If Lady Jaye looked great down the line... maybe I'd get her. But we are talking a huge price for one figure. There's better value for a 20 dollar 6 inch figure.

Cobra Commanders gauntlets also look like they are too close to the elbow.

Still, I'll probably end up ordering the 7" ones.

Why there's no Hooded head for CC.

I guess we can speculate on the reasons why. Or say it would be irrelevant to point out that hoods predate the KKK by hundred of years or more. Or that CC's hood never had a pointed top.

The reason why is that a hood can/could be seen as a symbol of the KKK.

I remember way back when the Rise of Cobra was being made and the creative forces behind that talking about what the hood could be seen as (And they gave us a horrible fish bowl helmet for CC).

This is were we are at, brands aren't going to bring racial critique on their product if they can avoid it.

If the fact the hood could be mistaken for the KKK, then why the fuck is Super7 releasing an Agnostic Front figure from their album with some pretty racist lyrics?

Because its Hasbro's policy and Super7 is playing by their rules with GIJoe.

Collectors just gonna have to make 3D prints of a hooded CC for their Ultimate figure(s).

The problem with doing a line devoted to the cartoon, is you run into problems with the animation as an action figure.

Do I really want or need a blue/purple Snake Eyes? Maybe.

But I think why there is no Destro yet, is because he has eyebrows in the cartoon.

That just doesn't transition very well to a figure.

This is why the original card art is the best model to use for A Real American Hero.

Destro's card art, as well as every single 80's G.I.JOE/Cobra is amazing.

I could see some potential using the Reaction figures in vehicles.

Hiss tank and Skystriker come to mind.
