A non-Hama issue, so non-continuity...because Hama is a bit of a twit. He has his reasons, and they seem valid to him. But it's a licensed comic for Marvel, mate. They NEVER were your characters. Someone else was always going to write them at some point.
The rest of those Spec. Missions were good, but #2 is a bit of a cliched plot for its time. Outback issue is solid mostly solo use of a Joe that isn't Snake-Eyes.
My brother had Official Handbook of Marvel Universe and Who's Who. I learned about a lot of characters from those. GI JOE Order of Battle was rather weak compared to them, but good if you lacked file cards.

Special Missions issue with Outback...
On the cover shivering in the snow, if only this survivalist had brought some arctic gear with him like Snow Job...who was also on the same mission with him.
Fun fact, Outback goes skiing in that issue as well.
I think Larry was really rubbing it in, that the Joe team was already established and didn't really need too many new characters.
CONGRATS on King Hiss!

Parody doing parody of something else. Kind of loses the original appeal of the TMNT IP. But it was 25 bucks and the box alone is decent enough. The backs do have their file cards as opposed to prior reissues I got.

They could've updated the sidekick figurines, painted them. Guess some would think that defeats the point of vintage reissues.

My buddy bought me these Shell Storage Turtles that are peg warming at his Walmart (TMNT stuff at mine). I like the quality of assessories, doesn't feel cheap, again, file cards included.

These Sewer Heroes/Villains follow a standard design pattern: * in a comic character costume * shield and weapon (either a wrist weapon or a gun) * a side kick * and all four have a spring loaded waist so they can do an action attack with the shield I suppose) Super Dom is a parody of Batman while Super Mike is a parody of Superman. Tad sidekick Mr Pole is a fusion of Robin and Alfrad as he is also his butler. I do recall a episode of 87 Turtles, The Maltese Hamster, were Dom gets caught up doing noir style sleuth narration the classic Turtle trench coat disguise... so I can see him getting caught up in play acting. Mike would definitely be into this stuff as a big kid. My issue with Super Don is I think the color contrast could be better. Crackers, Mike's side kick is the least interesting of the four. Rhinoman has Nutty, who is electric based? His head is turned to the side and has some kind of bulb on his head. Mighty Bebop has this muscle bound bunny sidekick, Harey. I like these two better than the Turtle counterparts as their costumes are more colorful. There was an episode with them doing this, pretending to be superheroes, called "Rhino-Man."

Here are the comics I got from that guy who delayed in shipping and gave me some freebees off his store as a make good. It does outpace the 17 bucks I played to begin with, but he still made a few mistakes in shipping (a issue apart of my original order was not included and he also didn't include an issue I had chosen, ah well).

That cover for 287 is amazing I think most of the Daredevil covers are absolutely incredible. The first issue of Daredevil I ever read (I have no idea which one it is) it pulled me in as a reader. Changed the way I looked at comics, and books in general. The story was about a dog that I think his father killed because it had three legs. The kid, so helpless...I know I've felt that way growing up. I couldn't believe a comic told such a dark, yet vivid story. The colors were amazing and captured so much emotion. I'll never forget the way they drew this cute puppy going "Arf?" with a gun pointed to his head. I don't know if that's why Daredevil hates guns or not...but it exposed a dark side of humanity that exists, but nobody wants to talk about. *Edit* I think G.I.JOE kind of copied a bit of that and had a Crimson Guard Fred kill the family dog when he and his family had to relocate...also tragic, but not Daredevil tragic.

Well, since I'm back in the USA this week, I stopped by Target and they had tons of TMNT stuff.
I picked up the Dirk Savage & Mona Lisa two-pack. And the Rex-1 figure.
Most everything else was comic book style stuff.
*Edit* Still need to find:
Lotus & Chaka Hatchi Jersey-Red & Grunt Rhino-Man & Mighty-Hog Accessory Pack Dumbo & Dopey
I think I still need the Rock Infantry guys, And the Turtle Crooks.
Why am I buying stuff, when I am just going back to Mexico with what I can carry?
