2023 Toy Photo Thread

It's been 2 years since I've been able to play with this.

Origins make this playset fun. Kind of sucked for Classics figures.

I know the Mattel Snake Mountain won't be this big, but Mattels still looks to be a very good size to me.

And the downfall to the Blood Falls on the Super7 mountain is that you really need something underneath to look just right. A plastic red orangish table cloth would probably work.

There's no issue with that on the Mattel one, which is a huge plus in my book. I also like that the Mattel one is supposed to be displayed partly open 90 degrees with the rope bridge. Super7's looks a little off if you try it.

And while the snake doesn't coil around the Mattel mountain, it looks better than the top of the neck on Super7's just vanishing past the neck.

Anyway, my love for Origins is on a new level.

Just so many things about being able to get so many poses out of them.

*Edit* And the cat loves to go in and out of the tunnel, sorry couldn't grab my camera quick enough for that.























There's still two more Skeletors on top the bookcase. One of the workers put them up there.
Tomorrow I'm going to see about picking up my BBTS order.
Should have two more Skeletors...Screech and Dragon Blast.

Got my stuff from BBTS today!

Dungeons and Dragons Presto and Eric. I remember Erics chainmail being more bluish in the cartoon, which I will paint eventually. Also, he has really stiff joints, so going to heat him up before trying any poses. *Edit* Even the box art has him with dark blue chainmail.


Presto is pretty cool. Would have been nice to have a couple more items to take out of his hat, but he's good.

Thundercats...LJN Lion-O is awesome. Best Lion-O yet, IMHO.

Invisible Tygra looks neat, so do the other LJN figures...but Lion-O is the best.

I really like Screech Skeletor and Mini-Comic Roboto. The orange parts and the heart, I love it :-)

Man, I still love the Horde best as a faction, they just look so evil.

There have been reports of people getting packages with missing parts on Reddit, just be glad you got it all.

But yes, the figure with the tail and the mix and match ability of this line creates some possibilities.

Eric: Well, I think it's safe to say we're not ever going home again.
But sure, we'll find Shiela.

Diana: Hey, Hanks trying to help. We need to find Sheila!

Presto: Are you sure of this monster you saw take Shiela Bobby? We've been looking for him for quite a while and we haven't found a single trace.

Bobby: I KNOW WHAT I SAW!

Portal Opens:

The group acts defensively.
He-Man: Hey kids. There's no need to be afraid. I'm He-Man, and I'm not sure if we can get you back home or not yet...but if you come with me to Eternia, you will always have a home.

Bobby: No thanks. We have to find my sister first.

Diana: Yeah, sounds great, but we're missing our friend.

He-Man: You have a friend missing? Tell me what you know.

Bobby: We were in a fight with Venger and Warduke, and then Tiamet showed up. Everything was crazy and I saw a furry orange beast man run off with my sister!

Eric: There were so many dragon heads we were fighting and dodging fireballs from Venger, how did you notice anything?

Bobby: I wasn't hiding behind a shield.

Presto: C'mon guys, arguing isn't going to help us find Sheila.

He-Man: I don't know who Venger or Tiamet are...but this Beast-Man sounds awfully familiar. I promise, we will find your sister.

And I'm pretty sure, I know just where to look...

Hank: I think we can trust He-Man.

Diana: Seems like our best chance at finding Sheila to me.

*Edit* Forgot to include dialogue for Dungeon Master showing up and assuring the group that trusting He-Man is indeed the right choice.

Forgotten Snake Mountain Prisoner

Tried the throne and table for Origins.

The dust didn't look bad to me until I saw it in the picture. I'll clean it up.

The scale for the throne, table, mountain is so much better with Origins.

I was kind of frustrated about Snake Mountain for a while. The final product is NOT what they showed at Comic-Con, and all the other conventions.

Try Displaying Classics figures on it, and you can fit maybe 3 okay, 5 looks crowded already, plus Panthor in the tunnel. This was really a little frustrating for how much space this playset takes up...just saying.

But with Origins, it's actually fun. Added Clamp Champ to the tunnel trap.

Also, Super7 Club Grayskull Modulok is a little big for Origins, but not TWO-BAD ;-p
Might be worth it if you get tired of waiting for Mattel.

One of my cats is snuggled up next to Snake Mountain...is it wrong to dye a cat purple?
