Sideshow uses "polystone" which is actually a form of plastic, it's what they use for all their statues, dioramas, and environments. The polystone brittle, breaks easy, but usually makes a clean break and can be superglued back together easily. The set came in only two pieces, plus the lions and flags (they used real metal for the flag poles). I'm going to have a lot of fun displaying ninjas with this. I think I did pretty good getting this 44 pound monster out of the box and setting it up yesterday after getting three stitches in my middle finger

I was going to guess polystone, it's a type of resin.

Some updates, been doing a little work on Firefly. Got my CG's on better bodies, and with the Crimson Cobra Commander uniform, not the Sideshow one. I'd like to sew some shoulder ranks on and add silver cord, but that's about it. This new Snake Eyes visor head looks pretty good to me, but now my Snakes needs a bigger body. Pretty happy with my Commando Snake Eyes. I'll probably get that new Revenger figures sweater for Snakes, but I'm pretty happy with this look. Couple shots of Zartan for fun. *Please ignore how the hood tucks under. It's not something I ever notice in person, the shadows cover it, so I never feel the need to fix it...until I see him in a picture I love this body for zartan. The veins stand out more in person and actually have a blue hue to them which gives this look like Zartan is having a skin reaction to light. He is on the ACI muscle body. I dug out my Sigma6 storage container today and pulled this guy out. Jungle Commando Snake Eyes. Dyed and painted black with the peg holes sanded down. This figure is why I love toys. There's something to be said about durability and poseability with these things. I love that I can slap on a parachute for this guy and chuck him off a roof and he'd probably be just fine. Plus they just stand so well on their own. What they lack in realism and scale, they make up for in articulation, durability and fun. It's taken some wear and tear (and dust), but it's still in great shape and one of my top favorite customs I've done. I will be revisiting this line again soon. I remember in my old apartment I had a lot of fun putting these guys all over the place, setting up ziplines and grappling hooks. I kept Scuba Duke by the bath tub I still love Sideshows realistic take and the level of detail but if my Black Ninja falls onto a dirty floor I would be pretty pissed off. And lets face it, the whole point is to be able to make good displays and those are some pretty important key factors. The animated look brings me back, even if it's not 100% classic animation. It just looks cool to me. While I am a fan of both styles (animated & realistic), this guy just wins on so many levels.
