Its getting a 9 Month delay so it can be converted to 3D.
That's code for, the movie sucks.
Also, the toys are still going to come out this summer? Looks like the entire next phase of GIJoe marketting is completely fucked.

I really do believe it's going to be a great film. I'd rather them work on it more if they have to.
Those toys will sell, and Hasbro will make more, no big deal.

Most people at guessing that Paramount panicked at Battleship's poor performance.
But to a pull a film this late in the game. Huge hit to everyone involved that probably won't be offset by the popularity of 3D in foreign markets (their excuse for 3D conversion & delay.)
If they had wanted 3D, they'd have planned that months and months ago.
Retaliation toys will be on clearance aisles by March 2013. Seriously, what are they gonna do with them...send it all back?
This could be a huge blow to the future of GI JOE at retail. But who knows yet.

I think nerds will buy the toys, and then by them again in all new 3D packaging

“G.I. Joe is an ongoing consumer franchise and therefore there is merchandise available to consumers. There is a limited amount of G.I. Joe Retaliation product at retail now, but in light of the movie moving out to March 29, 2013, the majority of the movie line will be made available early next year in time for the film’s release.” So, the line is in limbo for 9 months of turd polishing a bad movie. Maybe Hasbro will slap together some kind of filler waves.

I think the government is making them wait to release it, maybe because it's an election year.
To me, the speculated rumors that the movie is "a mess" doesn't make sense. The trailer looks very good. I couldn't say that about the first one.

Panic! Buy everything in stores now, even those crappy motorcycles.
I might get the HISS tank...but I said that about the last two HISS tanks and never got them, either.
I like the Cobra parachute, not so keen on the trooper it comes with, though.
Word is they will be reshooting stuff. Test screeners were given questionairre with stuff like "How did you feel about Tatum in the film?" "Did you expect more of him?" We may have a repeat of 1987. Duke was planned to die then they change it so he lives.

I thought Channing Tatum got unfairly scapgoated for ROC. The guy recently had success with 21 Jump Street, so writing him off here seemed foolish.
Seems like the studio big wigs really thought Rock and Bruce were a magical fix, but they don't bring a sure fire hit at this point. They get into test screening and realize, this is actually being called worse than ROC. And you got to contend with Spidey and they panicked.
Even General Hawk can't defend this stuff and he's as big a Hasbro mouth piece there is.

Roadblock trained at the Arashikage temple for six years, I don't see anything wrong with this movie.

Like him, but Bruce Willis isn't much of a star these days. His last hit was Live Free or Die Hard back in 2007.
DIE HARD 5 is set to be released in February 14, 2013.
The Rock always seems like THE ROCK to me.
I didn't see any movie toys out today (except ROC Destro at Meijers). Target had a biiiig empty space saying "look for new product soon". Embarrassing if they leave that spot empty. But then they haven't gotten any new star wars stuff in 3 months, either.
Saw the new Spider-Man pre-movie "comic series" 3 3/4" toys, they took away ball jointed hips. How sad.

I'm pretty sure the Retailers will be pissed, and this is going to screw up availability of anythign new for awhile. We already had shitty distribution, and now the stores were ready to go for a movie that, now, isn't coming out.

Saw some of the figures at Toys R Us today. The Cobra and Joe troopers don't look bad, but $10...hurts too much. Zartan's alternate heads have weird eyes that light up when lights hits his head, I guess. Roadblock had the handle molded in his hand.
They had the motorcycles, too. What crap.
One Kroger not far from me still has Zombie-Viper for $10 if anyone missed him.

I kind of feel like that's how they should have been promoting GIJoe from the beginning, putting Cobra out in frount.

Its kinda freaky that they got the actor (Keith David?) who does the voice over for the real military commercilas. Or at least somone who sounds just like him.
