Man of Steel: Decent, but not great. Origin movies get tiresome, but here it's actually the obligatory villain arrival, world in jeopardy and final slug out that seem to drag. There's so much explosions, falling debris and things getting trashed that it gets old.
Henry Cavill's a decent Superman. Amy Adams is an okay Lois Lane, but in terms of a franchise, maybe a bit too old for the part (at 38, she's 8 years old than Henry Cavill). Costner, Diane Lane and Russell Crowe add a bit. I could do without General Zod ever being a live action Superman villain again.
This is the End: Apocalyptic comedy starring Seth Rogan and friends as themselves more or less. It all goes down at a party at James Franco's house. Look for cameos from Rihanna and a few lesser knowns. Most of the movie is set in the house and it seems like they'll be cheap and won't show much of the actual armdageddon, but then they totally do. Lots of dick, gay and gross jokes, stuff that usually seems cheap and tiresome to me. But the film was quite fun, and I'm not a Rogan or Franco fan per se.

I saw Man of Steel,.. finally. Maybe a good 20 minutes could be cut, but I thought it was quite a thrill ride. Better invasion movie than Avengers, actually.
Lois/Superman kiss seemed almost like relief that they pulled it off and I like Superman's choice to kill Zod.

I don't understand why Zod's people hadn't already terraformed a new Krypton with their world engine. Before Superman activated the scout ship, they had no way of knowing if a surviving seed ship was out there or if Kal-El even survived. It's like they were in villain stand-by mode. Director Zach Snyder pulled the going back for the dog bit again (see Dawn of the Dead remake). Pa Kent was right to tell Clark not to save him, because Pa Kent realize he deserved to die.

Pa Kent dying to protect Clark's secret is fine, the dog being the trigger was lame.
Because a couple dozen people, with one female?, is not a viable starting point for a race. They needed the codex along with the Genesis Chamber if "New" Krypton was ever going to matter.
My issue, the epilogue with Clark going to work for the Daily Planet, shouldn't that building along with quite a bit of Metropolis be destroyed? I also don't know if I like Lois knowing his secret, I always thought part of the charm was the love triangle of sorts.

Still stuff they had no way of knowing still existed. Zod's purpose/mission in life was moot after the colonies turned out to be all dead, what exactly was his plan after that. Fly around a vast, vast, vast...VAST cosmos hoping to find the son of the guy he killed?
I can't remember if what's her name was the only female or if she was an implied lesbian like Ursa from Superman & Superman 2.
