In January/February, my computer turned to shit. Rebooting over and over. It couldn't repair in it's Recovery mode, because it asks for a password that doesn't exist...even after i reset it.
My father took it to some place, and the guy sat on it for months. Finally looks at it, and calls me "There's no easy solution. I don't have the right disks. I'll have to back up your files and reload everything. Estimate $300."
I told him I'd think about. That was nearly 2 weeks ago. I can buy a new tower for just over $300 that isn't 4-5 years old. the only shit on my old harddrive that mattered was a few photos.
My boss lends me a refurbished PC he had some issues with. I think I got it working, except internet explorer constantly freezes. I look at Microsoft's supposed solutions. "LOAD INTERNET EXPLORER 8." Okay, I do that...machine reboots...and messes up. I go to safe Mode...but even Safe Mode has to "shut down". Next reboot and suddenly a system 32 file is corrupt/damaged. Won't go to windows. Recovery mode asks for password that doesn't exist (even after resetting the password in BIOS). And attemptint to repair windows, the XP disk that came with the PC won't/can't fix that file....which makes no sense. All I can think to do is a complete reload of windows, wiping out the previous version...which probably won't work.
Me hate computers now.

I had that exact same problem on my old PC. Windows just seems to do this after so many years. Forces people to buy new PC's & new software. Sorry about you photos.

Wasn't this the name of a GIJoe episode? Computer problems suck.
I had some troubles where Spyware was taking control of my computer, so I took a risk and just reformatted the HD, and it looked to be working, but it booted to a black screen. Thankfully, there's another computer in the house and I went on HP's help site, the chatroom. And basically, the solution was changing some property in the boot section. So, then it worked. Had a clean HD, was able to do all the Microsoft updates, and got me a free Secruity program.

Wasn't this the name of a GIJoe episode? Yes, it was. Gotta keep things relevant to GI JOE.

My internet was down for about 13 hours, I felt like a crackhead going through withdraw. I didn't have any enlightening moments you read about, you know, "I went OUTSIDE for a nice walk (Where else are you going to go? Everyone always has to emphasize the outsideness) and enjoyed the blue sky and listened to the birds singing and pretty butterflies and the fresh air and all that crap" yeah none of that happened. Maybe I needed to go like 48 hours or something to reach that stage, because I was stuck at the "fuck mutherfuck" stage. Turns out I just need a new modem

I'm not an outdoor person. Never was. I have pollen allergies and the sun hurts my eyes.

I liked going outside when I was a kid. Nowdays my outdoor activity is going to garage sales.
Got this goofy coworker. She'll travel hundreds of miles just to go hiking. She went to Isle Royale in Lake Superiour. There's just about nothing there but mooses and wolves. A long ferry ride to see an uninhabited island. Must be some city girl thing. I've lived in rural areas and see no great wonder in going out in the boonies.
Then, I also dislike travelling period. I'm no fun at all.

I do go for walks, but I never feel the need to brag about it as some kind of specialized activity to other people.
I kind of think that it's more so people can talk about how cool they are and how much fun they are supposedly capable of having, and at the same time superior to you, because if you aren't talking about it, it must mean you never do it. This is supposed to fill some void inside that person that is desperately screaming to have a purpose to live.

I got my old PC back after another "computer expert" had it for months. Everything saved on it is gone, but it works...for now. I discover there's less people online playing Counter Strike Condition Zero than a year ago.

My current PC is making an occasional clicking noise, then it slows to a halt. Usually it resumes in a few seconds. Then it just crashed to blue screen of death. I got this PC used (big mistake, never get a used pc, I guess) 2 months ago, after my old one's, which I had problems with for years, hard drive broke. It working now..but it's days are probably numbered.
I just had the battery and alternator replaced in my car (after nearly breaking down on the highway), and now it's making a noise like an RC car when it accelerates, which according to troubleshooting guides is a bad thing. And starting it this morning some of the gauges acted possessed...sign of an electrical problem.
Between computers and cars I'm starting to hate technology.

Wow, are you and I having some similar problems.
The video game I always play is full of hackers and cheaters, to the point I would probably throw the game system out the window if it didn't still play movies.
I had a date the other day, incredible, I never do this. Car breaks down before I can go to meet her. Still made it though :-) Car's got to be in the shop for a week, but I don't care.
That was Tuesday, and today I had to put my dog for 13 years down. I got a headache from crying so hard.
On a really brighter note, the girls been texting me, so hey, well see. Anything is possible.
I think besides being a loyal counterpart. My dog taught me about parenting. Do you really have what it takes? He pushed me to my limits. But unlike previous owners, I never hurt him. I've learned this about myself though, be nice. It's all a test, designed to break you down. Don't let it, be strong, be nice.

This old ass back-up PC uses Windows XP, but it's hard drive is the original. But two newer PC's die on me. I don't get it.
My back-up vehicle needs a new tire and windshield is cracked, so I rarely drive it and the battery goes down. My father says always have a back-up, but when your back-up ain't up and up...
Sorry about your dog. Years ago, I had put down a cat I had for probably that long. I don't have what it takes to be a parent. I say that because I don't take care of myself.

Pets are family. It sucks to lose any of them.
Windows XP was great, everything fell apart for me many times with the upgrades.
I'm just not a car guy, I never had that father son kind of automotive training, so I just never learned much about cars. I don't drive as much as I used to, but it is nice to be able to if I want. It's kind of cool when you get the parts you need to get going, and you bring a car back to life.
I bet you would be a great parent. It's never too late to start taking care of yourself. The human body is amazing and can make some ridiculous come backs.
I say research Super Foods, going vegan, Dr. Sebi, and build an exercise routine twice a week, that's the way I live now. All of these transitions took me a long time, but I'm starting to look younger as I get older now, it's crazy. I was fortunate that an ex-navy seal physical trainer moved in next door to me, and helped me in areas I was really struggling. A lot of it was common sense stuff. I would do push ups and not get the results I wanted, and give up. He basically said, "That just means you have to do more." lol!
I tried vegan for a year, but just because your vegan doesn't mean your eating healthy. I gave up on it, but started to have some of the same old health problems I suffered from. Once I combined Super Foods with being vegan, and a good exercise routine, I'm like TNT :-)
On a side note, the girl I've been talking about showed up to meet me before work @3am!!! Just to give me a hug. I'm starting to like this girl a little bit :-)

I was just thinking about dental work and getting my annual check-up and you are talking about lifestyle changes!
Got my alternator replaced again by Sears who didn't charge me nothing (since another Sears location put in a bad one). But I had to wait around for 2 1/2 hours at a mall without a movie theater and mostly clothing stores aimed at young women.

Major LOLZ at "department stores" and "Dental work" :-) I can't tell you how much I hate department stores. I had to go to the mall as a kid every sunday with my mom and sister, and I had to stay with them. I hate those places to this day. My ex would take me shopping a couple of times, and it felt like cruel torture.
Hey I have a cavity happening, need to take care of that too. It's been a good 10 years since I went to the dentist, yikes! But haven't noticed any major problems...
My cars still in the shop, maybe in a day or two.
That girl and I have tough schedules, but we're chatting (AKA texting) quite a bit. She does keep hitting me up, so who knows ;-)
