Cobra Commander
Baroness
Destro
Storm Shadow vs. 2
have all been announced & previewed.
CC is pretty good, but I don't like the helmet. It just has one seem running through that looks off to me. Everything else is spot on. I'm probably not in the majority of fans, but I liked the look of their first Cobra Commander more.
Destro, looks like something Hasbro would do. Not impressed.
Baroness looks nice. Real nice. This tempts me to order. I know I will like Scarlet.
Storm Shadow vs. 2...has potential. Looks pretty decent, but at the same time also manages to look like something Hasbro would release. As cool as the original 1988 version 2 Storm Shadow was, I always preferred his original look better. If the urban camo had matched the 1988 figure, I probably would have broken down and ordered because I love that figure. This looks more like Ninja Force, or version 24 of Storm Shadow.
It's amazing how much Cobra dominates the G.I. JOE franchise. As a kid I thought the villains were stupid. Yet these characters hold the most weight.
My interest in toys these days has diminished significantly, so I'm not excited about any of this stuff. In fact, I have all my toys and collectibles moved into a separate room to auction off. I've just been too busy to do it.
The pros: I've cleaned up my home. It's incredibly difficult to keep hordes of collectibles clean, and your home clean too. Boxes start piling up because you want to save that shit too for some reason, like reselling in the original shipping container. It's all just crap. More crap. More and more crap. Crap to store crap in mint crap condition.
Cons: Nothing really. The purge has been good. Haven't felt a need to buy more junk either. I haven't even been playing video games for a couple months now (what's wrong with me?).
I've got one thing still on my shelf, Mad Max and the Interceptor car.
