New 50th Annivesary stuff, maybe Toys R Us exclusives? Pictures up at Hisstank. Also a NEW TERRORDROME...it's Kreo, of course. Mix of rehashes and new concept case figures from the convention displays. Vamp MK 2 is in the original colors, but another urban version is shown, too. Star Wars has a new Ree Yees, the skiff guard guy in the black helmet, Hoth Luke with a new head. All available waaaaay too late in the year, probably. 6" Scale speeder bike and Jabba the Hutt (surprising). REBELS cartoon actually has a few cool looking new vehicles. REBELS cartoon Figures are of course, 5 points of articulation And odd thing, Star Wars Command. Star Wars "army men", basically.

This is the first I'm hearing about a "Rebels" cartoon.
What's the madness behind 5-point articulation? How are these steps backwards in time, progress?
The Hoth girl that orders the Ion Canon to "Fire" is pretty neat. Ree Yee's and the Palace Guard are pretty cool too.
Not really impressed with anything, but I will probably give the cartoon a try.
Nothing really caught my eye in the G.I. JOE world. Both brands look like rereleases and figure bashes. Not very impressive, but I haven't been too interested in either line lately, that might have something to do with it.

Made by the CLONE WARS team, mostly. Rebels will take place 5 years before Episode 4 and feature a cliche cast of characters: sassy droid, handsome rogue hero, precocious teen hero, hot chick hero (twi'lek), big guy who is an alien (inspired by concept art Chewbacca), pale skinned villain who uses a double bladed lightsaber and dresses in black (Inquisitor)...that's mostly what is known. Also, the Millenium Falcon type ship for the good guys. And there's some good guy Mandalorian female we know nothing about.
5-point articulation, kids don't care about articulation, but the reality is that production costs are going up and action figure sales are going down, so Hasbro is trying to hold onto the kid market with cheaper figures.
Some of the new Transformers are so simplistic and bad they've been compared to Go-Bots.
Oh, they are saying the VAMP MK 2 in original colors and Night Landing (the vehicles are in paired sets) will be a Comic Con exclusive. SO SCREW YOU, TOO, HASBRO!

Supposedly Hasbro will reship some harder to find Star Wars figures on new cards, like EU characters Darth Malgus, The Old Republic Trooper, Bastilla Shan and Starkiller. That will be it for Expanded Universe characters for the forseeable future as Lucasfilm (Disney) doesn't want any non-Rebels cartoon or non-Movie product made.

Loo-Kee the Kowl repaint set will "show up at random" on the Mattel site. Good way to keep fans pissed off. They've done the same with some translucent Hordak.
Rio Blast. I'm surprised they got to him. I had his 80's figure. Kinda of strange to see such a gun happy western cyborg next to He-Man, like he missed the bus to Bravestar or something. I don't understand the hoses, since the original one didn't have them.
The rest of those shown are part of their 6-month Filmation Etheria Subscription. Their commitment to lame characters is admirable. Joe fans can't even get a Big Lob with any new parts.

I haven't seen any really good pics of the Rebels HERO ship. Kind of looks like it could attach to the Falcons mandibles...maybe.
Yeah, I'm not sure how that whole subscription thing works for MOTU. There's too many figures in MOTU that I don't remember or never saw. I was into it heavily as a kid until G.I. JOE came out. I'm glad I'm not into the whole line or need every figure, that would suck. But even if I have to pay extra to hunt down the few I want, I really don't care. I'm in this for some fun fantasy figures, that's it. I'm not really into the Sci-Fi aspect of it though, so characters like Bravestar, Rio-Blast, and Snout Spout are an easy pass for me.
I do want to make a custom Green Dragon using Whiplash and some extra Draego-Man wings.
I wonder if Big Lob never got a mainstream release for the same reasons we never got the Rocky figure?
