So, Jem is being rebooted by the same hack who brought us GIJoe Retaliation. And I see news via themarysue.com that the creator of the show won't be involved in the project in any way. That's kind of lame. The producers are men, its a male director and its a male writer... not female perspective at all for a female property? Ugh. Think this is going to end up like Josie and the Pussycats movie, completely unwatchable.

I watched a few episodes when I was really bored. Unlike She-Ra, JEM was never my thing. The only episode I remember was about one of the Misfits that didn't know how to read, and her other Misfits friends made fun of her for it. It was actually quite amusing. By the end, JEM had helped her get on the learning track (if I remember correctly, this was done by pretending to be a Misfit), and she became a better reader than the other Misfits. They all started to learn to read except one, who kept trying to make fun of how stupid it was and went her own way, angry and ashamed, and lost her friends in the process.
