I skipped the first First Avenger movie, and just saw it a few months ago on cable. No regrets, it was mediocre at beast.
Winter Soldier is much better. I still think Chris Evans lacks charisma, but he's not terrible. The movies flows pretty well, but you can tell by the trailers, the plot is heavy on war on terrrorism/national security surveillance commentary. It's not bad. But I want the next super-hero movie I see to be less topical. The Winter Soldier himself is more of the b-plot, but I guess they had to call the film something.
I'm behind on new movies. I watched American Psycho (streaming on Netflix). Haven't seen that since it first came out. I really haven't laughed so hard in a long time. I know, I can't normally watch anything with too much gore, but after watching the new the Batman movies, one can't really watch this without thinking that this is Bruce Wayne....granted a much much darker version of Bruce Wayne.
Even his name in the movie, "Patrick Bateman", lolz "Bate-Man"
I liked it. Captain America is more Truth, Justice and the American Way than Superman at this point. I liked The bro/sis relationship he and Black Widow had. Winter Solider was great, glad he wasn't killed.
