The company forced my long time boss to retire early in March. I knew that was beginning of the end. See, he was a good guy working for an asinine corporation. He's what made the place tolerable, he put in extra hours he never got paid for and looked out for support personnel as best he could. The administrative assistant left last summer, they had a job posting and the company narrowed it down to 3 people (all part time employees) and chose the worst person. Now she's been promoted to manager. She has NO managerial experience, and it shows. They aren't replacing the now vacant administrative assistant position, because MONEY. They either think the place can run on fumes and fake smiles or they are setting the location up to fail.
She's annoyed me, dumped too much work on the entire staff. Says stupid shit like "I need you guys to step up" and I'm ready to step out for ever. We are already busting our asses and missing out breaks. She complained about having to come in on the weekend and I wanted to tell her that's what she signed on for when she took the old man's job.
She asked me compile a list of defective items and give it to her by the end of the day, then guess what? Bitch left work early! I think I was set-up. We'll see tomorrow.
I'm tired of being mostly a custodian anyway. It's not as glamorous as Toy Action Theater made it out to be. And it's not what I signed on for, just something else that got dumped on me because the company decided an after hours cleaning company was too much money. I went from office aide to light warehouse to janitor.
There's no future there. I never got benefits or anything, anyway, since there were only 4 or 5 full time employees. I hadn't been laid off since last February, though.
Edit: Hey. My 400th post!
