I was gonna pass on this one, then I watched Dark of the Moon on FX a week ago, which I hadn't seen before. So I decided to waste money seeing number 4.
Minor spoilers.
I liked the first 40 minutes, kind of a darker movie...no Shia LeBeuf antics.
Then they have to have the dad discovers his daughter's secret boyfriend crap. Bay inserts sitcom shit into a serviceable film.
Oh, and then what started out as a human villain type becomes a brunt of more humor.
The Dino-Bots show up 2 damn hours into the thing. They don't speak. Let's face it, the only Auto-Bots that matter in the films are Bumblebee, who is without Sam here, and Optimus Prime, who's bitter in this one for good reasons but it's hard because he's the heart and soul of the Autobots.
Lots of explosions, falling debris, innocent bystander vehicles being destroyed, people running, being thrown like ragdolls without injury....standard TRANSFORMER movie stuff. It gets repetitive.
They tease the Quintessons (or some equivalent), but never show them entirely.
6/10, it's not as bad as pissy critics make it out to be...for what it is.
