SNEAK PEEK: G.I. JOE FAN VOTE

Four Kindle Worlds characters contend for one action figure slot.
As revealed at New York Comic Con, the fans’ voice will be heard in the first ever G.I. Joe Fan Vote. Four original characters have been selected from the fan-authored stories available at www.kindleworlds.com and one of them will be chosen by the fans to receive an action figure in the 2016 G.I. Joe toy lineup. We are proud to introduce: Cobra Whisper, Cobra Blackjack, Stiletto, and Adventure Team Marcus:

Let's see
Cobra Whisper - Another masked assassin/ninja, who is WOW a girl. Part of her origin sounds like Scoop's backstory in Operation Dragonfire
Cobra Blackjack - Baroness long-time bodyguard...whom we never saw before...but trained her...what a total fanfic creation.
Stiletto (GI JOE) - Mercer's bodyguard...yeah, Felix Stratton needed some badass woman with one good eye to protect him. WHAT DER FUDGE?
Adventure Team Marcus (GI JOE Adventure Team - African American adventure team member...funny, pretty sure those already existed since the early 70's. Naming existing characters gets you love from Hasbro, I guess.

Whisper is Justin Bell's creation. (No surprise, the least original of a group already uninspired characters.)

I don't care for any of them as they all seem exactly what there are, fanfic creations, but I'll vote against Gennie Hawk's love child.

What are your thoughts? (Besides that I'm too cynical.)

They're all horrible. Pushing new characters without any media to support them is a recipe for failure. G.I. JOE needs to make a deal with Call of Duty or throw in the towel. A cartoon, comic, even live action movie is not enough for kids these days.

I think those characters all suck, I would vote for the adventure team guy probably.

Although there *was* a Black Talking Commander figure in the 70s, it was simply "GI Joe." Marcus is a character I created in my novella with a full background, personality, and skill-set of his own, something the action figure never had. I dig that it may seem superficial, but he's become a distinct character, I think.

Mr. Beard, I'm surprised you were the first to do that with the black Adventurer, as far as I know...since I pay little attention to older GI JOE themes.

No word on exactly when voting will open up, but we do know that you have to register for Hasbro's The Pulse. Sucks, but there you have it.

WOW!!!!! You have a story for Marcus, this is incredible! I like the Adventure team, although I know so little about it.
Not a fan of the 25th style figures, so if I ever do a classic 3 3/4" style custom Adventure team force, Marcus will be leading it.

I've heard there will be a Transformers poll for a Titan Class figure. Choices Omega Supreme, Trypticon and Scorponok. (They are making Fortress Maximus next year)

Which means nothing to me. I'm inclined towards Omega Supreme for nostalgia.
