It's okay. If you hate the current X-Men franchise, it won't change your mind.
Minor spoilers:
Obligatory Apocalypse wants to destroy the world plot, recruits his four horsemen (2 are women, so horsepersons?) which for some reason (I know, the comics) includes Angel, whom he has to enhance to even be a decent horseman.
New Nightcrawler is decent. New Jean Grey not as hot as Famke, but okay. New Cyclops is okay. New Storm is no Halle Berry...that's a good thing. New Angel....who gives a shit about Angel. Jubilee is given little to do...never uses her powers IIRC. Psylocke is pretty hot. Oscar Issac as Poccy Lips is decent. What can you do with a clunky suit, all that make-up and your voice is altered in post?
It's 1983, tens years after the 70's part of Days of Future's Past, but hardly anyone looks older.
There's a jab at X-Men 3...and Return of the Jedi, after seeing it, some characters say "the 3rd movie is always the worst"....which makes little sense in 1983, as there weren't many film franchises.
There's a post credits scene.

I hope I can see it this week, I'm off from work, but sick, bleh.
I really liked the first two X-men...and so I kind of give the rest of the series a free pass. I actually enjoyed Wolverines Origin.
I still need to see Captain America Civil War and Superman vs. Batman. I don't get why Iron Man and Captain America are fighting, seems lame to me. And I hate that Superman lost his underwear.

Some one pointed out this the third part of a second trilogy that began with First Class. The director's like "this is the real beginning of the X-Men". So it takes 3 movies for them to begin? Whatever.
I still haven't seen CIVIL WAR, my plan was to see it first, but haven't gotten around to it.

There's so many characters in the movie and the villain plot is one note. I'd say this was ok, just too clunky to be good.

See, I don't know what to expect from Apocalypse as a character. He's never had much of a personality besides wanting to end the world as we know it so he can rule. There's no sympathetic nature to him or anything.
