It's pretty much like all the other Michael Bay Transformers movies. I was kind of into the first half, but it just gets to carried away.
The story line is all over the place, very confusing. Anthony Hopkins' facial expressions always look confused and bewildered, like he can't believe that this is how it's going to end for him....with this movie.
Quintessa is not a planet for the Quintesons, but a female robot creator.
Bumblebee still doesn't have his own voice, they try to fix it, it doesn't work, so he rips the whole part out and tosses it. Later on he talks with his "original voice" with no explanation as to how.
The major final battle has the humans running across very large areas of terrain with the autobots. A wasted opportunity for the autobots to just transform and drive them all where they need to go.
Apparently Unicron is Earth. WTF? I know. He just starts growing out of the ground, it's really really lame.
About the only thing I liked is the autobot that resembles Wall-E. I think they call him Sparks or something. He only has a minor role.
There are also tons of Star Wars references, I swear they had Walkers and Tie-Fighters.
I'll give it one star out of 5 or 10, doesn't really matter, doesn't really deserve that either.
I'm still amazed at how well the 1986 movie holds up to this day, and these other films will just be forgotten about in no time, if they haven't already.

Yeah, I skipped it. Sounds like I made the right call.

Oh, boy. I made the right call. I just watched it on EPIX at my Dad's house. My initial thoughts were "This isn't so bad" By the end I was so sick of all the falling and running and the hokey exposition that I wanted the Earth to explode. Megatron is once again the side villain. Prime has 5 minutes of screen time for the first 90 minutes. EVERY Autobot is comic relief, while the humans are often so serious that it's like they are in two different movies. That whole scene with Megatron getting his team freed, and most of them die within in 15 minutes. The English broad and her stand off bitchiness, because why make her likeable at first, right? The latina teen who seems significant at first but by the end seems added on for demographics, as well as the funny black guy...padding an overlong movie with more characters.
Yeah, that US anti-transformer force has walkers but doesn't deploy them after the first 20 minutes of the movie. The drones look like Vader's TIE. OMG. IT'S ALL SO OVERBLOWN AND STUPID!! EVEN FOR A MICHAEL BAY TRANSFORMERS MOVIE!!
Exactly!

So sorry man. I'm past my transformer obsession these days.
