Watched an old episode of the toon.
So, this episode with growing fruits and vegetables.
One thing that never occurred to me, there's no Lady Jaye, Baroness, Scarlett, Cover Girl in this ep. No female lead at all. You do get a female Crimson Guard agent when they are searching for the fuel.
I do like the Crimson Guard getting some focus in their activities. The inner play between Cobra Commander and Destro is fun. I guess Wild Bill is the lead in this ep, he has two helicopter showdowns with Destro. The civilian featured in this episode is just sad. I do like how arrogant Airtight comes off when he shows up in the back end of the episode. The jokes from Polly aren't great.

I kind of remember this one. The farmer guy grows giant plants that start taking over or something right?

Not sure I have it on dvd. There's some gaps from owning 1 Rhino and a couple of Shout Factory releases. I can watch it online, though.
Yeah, CG's as undercover operatives. Not too common on the toon.
They did go with a b-team of Joes and that's great. Then Shipwreck shows up for some reason.
Destro's trick with the copter wouldn't work he'd get chopped up by the blades.
Cobra Commander dismissing the bean's potential is odd for a former Cobra-La bio weapons researcher. Yeah.
It's a long drive from South Dakota to Chicago on those silver mirages, like 11 hours. Not sure they did as they next show Bazooka he's in a Mauler. Wild Bill must've picked them up and they all flew in.
Alpine's confrontation with the Twins was messy. They almost die but are saved by lettuce.
Why did they bother to go back to South Dakota, then it occured to me they have to defoliate the green house there.
Also, that fuel solves world hunger, but whatever.

The fun of Cobra Commander dismissing everything Destro has to say is Destro is right. "I fear for your sanity, Destro" when Destro is evil, but sane, while Cobra Commander is evil, but insane. Cobra Commander walking over a fallen Crimson Guard is great.
I have the entire run on DVD, but the lot of episodes of this and Transformers is on Tubi, which I watch on my PS4.

Not a basic Cobra trooper in the episode, either, just CG's, IIRC.

In the next episode, Haul Down the Heavens, when the Snow Serpents are playing cards, they are wearing standard Cobra trooper masks under the snow gear.

Are there actual Snow Serpents in that one? I thought it was all troopers in winter gear (Something for some reason neither Hasbro nor the club would make, but hey COILS O'DOOM and some Xtreme character!)

Snow Serpents were pretty rare in the series. They appear in Arise Serpentor, and there's literally one in G.I. JOE the movie firing the tail gun on the COBRA Stun during the retreat.
It's amazing how much the Cobra Trooper dominated the series when there were tons of other troop types. I mean Cobra Officers are probably more rare than even Snow Serpents.

I think the most truthful answer is there's continuity errors in regards to the gear those Cobra troops are wearing.
I skimmed through it real quick.
You get Cobra Troopers in winter gear. You get the Cobra Troopers with Snow Serpent uniforms, but their Cobra Trooper headgear. Then at the end of the episode with the big battle, you see proper Snow Serpents.

Snow Serpents were pretty rare in the series. They appear in Arise Serpentor, and there's literally one in G.I. JOE the movie firing the tail gun on the COBRA Stun during the retreat. They are in an EYE FOR AN EYE ambushing the Joe convoy. They don't appear in the comic at all, aside from ORDER OF BATTLE. I don't know. Officers appear with red logos in MASS Device, then with white? in Revenge of Cobra, then in Pyramid of Darkness as security in the underground Cobra base using Cobra JUMPs. For some reason, they were used as a base security more than officers. Their final appearance, in the movie, is operating a security monitor at the Terrordrome, I think. I think Jungle Trap and Cobra Stops the World, they are actually used as officers. A couple appear at Mindbender's Serpentor proposal meeting then disappears when CC crashes the conference. And Lt. Claymoore was an officer but wore a trooper uniform. There's a lot of continuity and animation errors, like Swindle says. Porbably accidentally, the Viper Glider Pilot (that is, a trooper with a silver/white logo) appears a few times due to confusion over Officers and Troopers.
