In the later issues, Cobra is going to finally beat G.I.JOE with...the POGO! lol! Raptor makes an appearance and says, "COBRA!" His Falcon pulls Backstop from the Persuader vehicle, more lolz :-) Outback appears briefly.
The Defiant makes an appearance.
The BUGG shows up twice, in #62 and #80.
I'm not sure who is supposed to be talking in #62, but I think it's supposed to be Skidmark.
Battle Force 2000 appears a couple times too.
The final comic commercial is issue #80, leading an assault on Cobra Island, and ends with the Rolling Thunder launching the nukes...I like that ending. Also Techno Viper appears.

I remember that funky Cobra car. Flash is an army builder. Animated Tan Grunt.
"WHAT?!" "My brother's in trouble!" "HOW DO YOU KNOW?!"
It's great that every new villain got their own song.
"Tough it out, Zartan. You punk-ass bitch!"
They never had made a red/rust colored Serpentor.
The later ones are like a preview of the season 3 that was never made.

I laugh when people say DIC GIJoe was acceptable when looking at these commercials. What might of been.

The best thing about DIC was that they used characters/toys that were largely ignored in the comics. Goofball comic purists associate Python Patrol with DARKLON. As if!! LOL.
But then again, how do have 20 something 1990 episodes and you cannot say anything about the new characters other than Metal-Head is a moron?

Dr. Mindbender should have been part of Python Patrol, since he created the Python paint in the comic.

The problem with DIC is they didn't feel like real people. Its was both low quality and they had low standards. I actually recall reading that some of the same writers worked on DIC as Sunbow, but they knew this was just a tv cartoon at the lowest quality, while Sunbow, they were really writing episodes for themselves, Gamesmaster, commentary on toy collectors, Red Rockets, fast food is destroying America. A lot of episodes in Sunbow had things in them that went over kids heads. And the characters felt like real people.
Metal Head is fun in a so bad its good kind of deal, but other than that, yeah, blah.
