Turns out Jango Fett was a foundling, so he actually was a Mandalorian, not just a common bounty hunter.
The episode The Tragedy kind of works as a backdoor Boba Fett offering for future tv show/merch chance. We find out a bit of him in relationship to his father and he also gets some action sequences. He also reuses one of my favorite lines from the PT, "I'm just a simple man, trying to make my way in the universe."

I haven't watched the show and well, everything will be spoiled my media anyway.
I'm glad Jango is a Mandalorian, because it was silly he and Fett weren't, you know, since they were the only MOVIE Mandos.

Honestly, you could skip all the eps and just watch that one and be fine. Empire after the child, Mando trying to get the child to a force thing to call out to jedi, Boba after his armor. All factions come together. Child taken, now as in old cowboy movies, put the crew together to take on the villains.

Can't believe they killed off the Razor Crest . All those people who backed the HasLab ship are getting a dead ship now.

Tactically, it makes sense. Empire had the high ground, get rid of his ship, he's stranded thetr. They didn't count on Boba looking for his armor, thus... Slave One gets to shine. But from a toy connection pov, its surprising. Star Wars is very good at connecting characters to a vehicle, Falcon/Han, X-Wing/Luke...

SPOILER!
I'd recommend season 2 of Mando.
I think there is three things it does very well: Character beats, music and the episodic nature.
So, Mando tries to find the child a good school (train to be a jedi), good dad looking out for his kid. Meanwhile, Bo-Katan wants the dark saber back, only problem is Mando beats Gideon in combat, thus the only way she can get it back would be to beat Mando himself. Basically, I think Mando is going to be drafted into having to become a leader for Mandalore.
Luke does show up at the end. A bit of uncanny valley, but it was good. The child's story is rapped up.
Boba goes back to Jabba's palace and takes over. Teaser for The Book of Fett. I think its wise to use that locale. Good base and also a good way to mine for plot points there and familiar to fandom. I did feel bad for Boba when he suffered some anti-clone bias and Jango was dismissed as only being his donor, not his father.
I think the big issue with Disney Plus Star Wars is they need better villains, but the character beats are solid.

I will add in a few other things: Jedi = space samurai Mandalorians = space cowboys I think there was this idea that along time ago GL had an idea for a Star Wars tv show that would have been more grim/gritty and been on something like HBO, but the technology wasn't there yet to do a weekly series economically, feel like Mando is kind of the thing that stepped in its place. I ending with Luke taking baby yoda, it kind of felt like a bit of Gremlins with Grandfather leaving with Gizmo. A little bit. Finally, I made a choice along time ago not to be a political junkie. I used to be very into it. I think with this show compared to The Last Jedi has shown where Disney went afaul. Walt Disney himself was a genius at this, you want to create content you can monetize in different ways. Most people wanted to see Luke as a hero, not a weirdo who turned his back on everyone and everything. You can't bend stories to agendas. There's a reason the OT became the biggest of sci-fi movies, GL understood story tropes and how to use them.

Luke's cameo is the worst kept secret of the current internets.
That all sounds fan ficky. Fett as a crime lord? I dunno.

Anything with Fett would be fan ficky because he was a plotdevice in Empire to make you feel for Han and push Leia to make her confession.
I think they'd done well with him in Mando. A lot about his relationship with his father. I get I am coming off as a shill I suppose, but I think they are getting SW back on track.

The show sounds like it's doing good. But since my heroes don't wear masks,
I'm strictly a Jedi and Rebel fan now.
We don't need masks, the Force is our ally.
Ever wonder why Storm Troopers always have to wear masks? Con-vid.
Rebels don't wear masks because they know the virus is a fraud.
