 A lot of eBay comics I just received. Fairly cheap common issues that I missed out on as a kid. Askani'Son - Four issue mini-series. This is another focusing on Cable and his life in the future. There was a prior mini-series called The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix where it shows they ended up in the future raising a young Cable as Slim and Red. Here, I believe this mini-series was about him as a teenager. Cable originally went back in time to groom Cannonball for leadership as he'd be important to stop horrible things from happening in the future, but eventfully the time stream got all mucked up, so it became a more broad stop Apocalypse from taking over. X-Men definitely lifts things from movies (Aliens to the brood, this Cable stuff to Terminator, the Externals to Highlander). Pryde and Wisdom - Another mini-series, three issue here. Over saturation point creeping in for X-Men mid-to-late 90s. "1st Intriguing Issue" You don't say? Pathetic self-hype. Excalibur was a series I never really cared about as a kid. It was a team of X-Men castoffs without a strong premise, so it definitely felt d-list compared to X-Men, Uncanny, X-Force and X-Factor. So this guy Pete Wisdom was created by Warren Ellis and supposedly a self-insert and I believe dating Kitty Pryde aka Shadowcat for a time. That isn't creepy at all. Ugh. We shall see if this is any good. Excalibur - 16 total issues to fill in gaps. I'll give the series a go once I got the entire run. Along way to go. |

So it turns out this is the retail release of the Cobra Troop I won in that Hiss Tank giveaway. I'm fine with it actually. I cancelled my preorder of the Cobra Troop and Zartan on Hasbro Pulse and moved my Zartan pre-order to BBTS to go in pile of loot. Will save me a couple bucks even if the BBTS marks the Classified figures.

 Latest cheap eBay comics. I'm very happy with the condition of these. Nice to see Boom Boom on that X-Factor cover. Some of these are replacements of copies I hasn't happy with the condition in my collection. Slowly chipping away at Classic X-Men. |

 So I got this from Hasbro Pulse this evening on Easter. Hmmm... on the one hand, one of my issues with this figure is it does ditch the traditional colors of Cobra Commander. On the other hand, it is well done. I do like his cape, it has a snake skin affect. The two extra accessories are fun as well. Worth the mark up? Despite being a repaint, yes. |

Those red shoes :-)
They kind of gave the black and red look to Destro. He also owns the gold, black and red look for Iron Grenadiers.
However, the uniform look together of black, gold & red look being more of what C.O.I.L. was probably supposed to be IMHO. It is more regal looking.
I would definitely paint the boots black though... the arm bands and chest black too, leave the gold lining.
The red on the cape is what should stand out.

On the way home from my dad's over Easter, I found another Dollar Tree with Playmobil Blind Bags but the 4 I got were duplicates, none of the remaining four I didn't have. I got 2 more Vikings, another Spartan and another Superhero/sidekick. the idea of army building greeks and vikings is amusing but I might just sell them instead.
