I should get one and customize it into GI JOE HQ.
LOL. Me customize and afford a $650 set.
I was thinking looking at it, GI JOE Cartoon HQ, opening front vehicle door, second floor computer monitor room. I could see that happening. Stretch goals, Dusty in court martial dress uniform, Amber (QK's girlfriend) and Doc's Meth Lab.

I'm okay without Astral Lion-O. Would have been nice, but LJN Lion-O is my favorite now, so whatever. The claw shield and sword of omens as an unlock is lame. Metal sword of omens would be cool. They gave Panthro metal chains on his nun-chuck weapon. Bearbils would have made better unlocks I think. I should get one and customize it into GI JOE HQ. LOL. Me customize and afford a $650 set. I'd just as soon never buy vintage again, not for any real amount of money. It's all aging badly, even and maybe especially early 2000's stuff. And maybe I should've cashed in some beater garage sale stuff when prices peaked.
But I'm not backing this Mothership, too expensive and my interest in GI JOE is at an all time low. I hope it gets backed for those who want it. I'm skeptical it will based on its sluggish start.
If you go the HIS STANK you will read the usual "GI JOE fans are cheap" stuff. Yawn. How can there be 6 inch success if GI JOE fans are so cheap. Make crap they want and enough will buy.

maybe the 3 3/4 to 4 inch scale for GIJoe is dead? Hmmm
The collector base wants the figures super sized in 6 inch scale, and the loyalist to the older scale... probably would sooner buy actual figures that different kickstarters are doing.

It will get funded because Brian will make the factory workers buy it, so he can keep the prototype.
But they are doing O-Ring style figures now? I thought that broke the license agreement or something.
Still, kind of cool.
I'm with Bravo, my Joe fandom is also at an all time low.
I've got a decent vintage collection, but there's so many figures from the original run I still lack...makes it hard to want to collect a new line in any scale.
I will say it looks pretty decent for what it is.

I won't lie, the Cobra mothership is pretty cool looking. Reminds me a lot of the mothership from the "V" television mini-series. Probably where Sunbow got the idea from. This shirt is cool too.  |
