Okay, I finally got to see this "film" :-)
So, spoilers below....
I found myself constantly saying, "It's not that bad."
Sooooo :-)
Grandma is the leader of the ninja clan...yeah, Grandma.
But my breaking point was when Granny does the matrix super jump. Not even with a running start.
*shakes head*
Snake-Eyes is kind of a jerk the first 3/4's of the movie, with Storm Shadow turning jerk at the last quarter.
Scarlett and Baroness are much better...makes me wish the movie was about them instead.
I thought it was going to annoy me seeing Henry play Snake-Eyes, but not at all. Didn't even bother me that he and Storm Shadow didn't wear a mask, except for like 3.5 seconds at the end for absolutely no reason...and I really don't like anything that encourages kids to wear masks now.
Cobra is hinted at. Some of the bad guy nobodies are listed as Cobra Commandos. But most of the bad guys are random Yakuza.
There are quite a few deleted scenes, Tommy(Storm Shadow) being a jerk. Snake Eyes training, Tommy tells Baroness to call him Storm Shadow.
There's no Jinx, just Akio. She's not part of the family, so her background can be similar to Snake Eyes for a love interest that we never really see go anywhere...no kiss.
The plot is for Snake-Eyes to steal the Arashikage blood rock, that mysteriously looks like one of the elements for the M.A.S.S. device.
The Arashikage also have access to highly advanced technology and work with G.I.JOE.
The Blind Master sends Snake Eyes into a trance, with hologram technology? It's weird, he opens his hand and a floating blue sphere flies off. Snake Eyes follows it to a tree and goes into a dream state, where he remembers how his father died and forgives himself for not being able to help.
The villain is Kento, who is pretty forgettable. Not because of his acting, but that's just the kind of movie this is.
Scarlett mentions General Joe Colton.
When Snake Eyes finally finds his fathers killer, he discovers Cobra was behind it, so he just lets the guy go free!
Yeah, the guys that made this crap 'film' have very different ideas from mine about the kind of guy Snake-Eyes is.
I did like how Snake Eyes learns to do the right thing, whereas Storm Shadow turns into a jerk.
There's some quick clips with Larry Hama in the extra scenes...he describes issue #21, and just hearing him talk about it for a minute was better than the film.
