Granny DearestFor some reason, I remember this being funny. Its not. Metel Head's voice work is solid, though. Two things, Metal Head is the clear lead of this episode and is on his heels trying to keep his Granny from finding out Cobra is a terrorist group. She's under the impression Cobra is a security force fighting crooks. Very much COPS, fighting crime in the future time. Metal Head has also fed her the lie he's on command. Gnawgahyde likes to go to the balat and that's how Metal Head ropes him into play acting as well, though Gnawgahyde doesn't do much to help with the con. There's a bit of Aunt May in this woman being out of the loop a bit, but its also different because Metal Head is a villain, albitit a childlike villain. SAW Vipers seem like better to be used as general purprose troops than Range Viper, Laser Vipers, Alley Vipers. Cobra steals floating tech to put into this flying fortress to take over Chicago with. This is actually a decent idea for a toy, but the design is horror and generic. But a mobile command center makes more sense for Cobra than GIJoe. Once Granny does know the truth, Metal Head lays it out, "We're saving the citizens from themselves. In return for total domination, we offer peace, justice and the Cobra way." A bit of lip service to Cobra's endgame. Freefall is basically the joe lead and looks better than other Joes as his outfit is more credible in DIC animation. This episode is just bland overall. 2 out of 4, maybe a tad over it. But its not as funny as I remember it.

The flying base thing is similar to one in a Transformer episode I think.
The generic Joes in this one a mix of light green and khaki shirts, many without helmets. About the sort of troops Grid-Iron deserves.
