Not seeing a lot of stuff I like this year. From G.I. JOE Hasbro, absolutely nothing looks even remotely interesting to me....except the Kung Fu Blind Master  From G.I. JOE Sideshow: I like Baroness, they nailed it. Major Bludd looks perfect too. Falcon, meh...just lacks...character, and there's too many prominent figures they need to do before another generic white standard issue Joe Crimson Guard should is either a hit or miss...in this case, I think it's a miss, just not feeling it. From Star Wars Hasbro, Weequay and Nien Nunb are about the only things I will probably get....probably the new Aurra Sing, if I can find one. I'd probably keep this version on the card. Sideshow Star Wars: The lifesize Boba Fett looks undersized. The Premium Format Aayla Secura and Shaak Ti look good. I'm a sucker for Star Wars females in pretty much any media. |

Star Wars: At-St Drivers 2 pack and Ewok Scout (hijackers) 2 packs look nice...they've only been sneak photoed from the back side, I think.
But will probably be $20 each...
New speeder bike with scout trooper...again, only the back of the package was spy photoed. Probably be $20.
A glipse of some slide or something that show DROID FACTORY (build a droid pack ins?) is coming in 2013, R2-D2 with jets, Arena Padme with the ripped shirt and what looks like the same old Biker Scout Trooper.
New 3 3/4" DC line (not Mattel), all green lantern characters, with TBA release dates...before they were saying conventions only...yet not for say at this huge convention. WTF?
Hobbit 3 3/4" line...some are 2-packs...not too exciting. Bearded dwarf #1 with Bearded Dwarf #2.

I like the Ewoks  After closer pics, I'm not sure about my previous post. Weequays hair braids or dreadz are less than desirable...  Aurra Sings card art is great, but he figure...not so much. Easy pass, still happy with my CW version anyway. The Imperial Guard looks good, except for the pistol holding hand, and the staff thing looks cheap. If Hasbro would put alternate gripping hands, and fist hands in the packages, a lot of these figures would be 100% perfect. Nien Nunb is still awesome. It seems anyone who pilots the Falcon gets to wear the Han Solo vest. The Ahsoka card art is not the Ashley cosplay everyone was hoping for. I predict custom ebay cards in the near future.  The figure isn't bad, but the CW version is still miles better The Sideshow Aayla Secura statue doesn't photograph well or the paint the used is too shiney.   The Shaak Ti Sideshow statue is a little uh...revealing        The $2K Darth Maul Sideshow Legendary Scale figure has a lightsaber twice the size it should be. You would think if they've got the balls to charge a price that outrageous, the basic details like weapon scale would be accurate.  |

Official slideshow presentation is up. starwarsblog.starwars.com/index.php/2012/07/13/sdcc-2012-hasbro-star-warsVintage is on hiatus. No Clone Wars or movie heroes shown. No new vehicle shown besides the speeder bike. Droid factory stuff...mostly heroes, villains, troopers...not exicting. I love the obscure, at $10 redoing all the clone troopers in a new mold isn't a must buy. Old Jedi librarian Jocast Nu will be a Brian's Toys exclusive. Worst idea ever...giving that "store" an exclusive. Or maybe it was Hasbro screwing them over...here's 30,000 old lady toys...just for you! Obviously a lot more to reveal for 2013, saved for other shows. |
