In the 90's, when I still had free time to draw at my leisure, I wen't through a marker phase at the beset of my friend who was tryign to get me a job as a colorist. I think part of my problem was shitty markers, instead of the artist ones which run $100 or more a set. I particuarly hate the way the sky, and the camoflauge turned out. Here's an early attempt. Foolishly, I colored the originals, instead of saving the ink drawings and coloring copies, which is how it should be done. Original b/w ink drawing by Michael Golden, copied by me with an art projector. As you can see, the markers come out kinda streaked. I'm using Photoshop 6.0. It's old, but it was free, and I don't really know how to use everythign yet. I used Paint to fix the lines, couldn't figure out how to make the Photoshop do the same thing.

Looks like it came right out of a comic book to me, good job And just with markers, that's crazy! I've never been able to draw worth a damn. My Grandma was an artist. She could paint people really well. I didn't get the drawing gene.

Michael Golden who did GI JOE Yearbook #2?
Wow.
That cleaned up nice.
Never was an artist. I doodle when I'm really bored and don't have access to any other media. I had some scanned in at flickr before I stupidly deleted all that.

Yeah, that Michael Golden. 8-) I can draw fairly well, but not this good on my own. With the art projector, you put a picture in a, well, projector and can enlarge or copy it. This picture was from an ad for Savage Tales Magazine, about 1986-ish. The picture I copied was about 4x6, mine is about 8x10, and I cropped some of their legs out of the picture, and some skulls at the base of the signpost.
