People always say what they would do if they had "that many of (insert army builder here)", but it takes so much work and time just to set them up like this guy did in his ebay photos. That's why I sold mine off about 5 years ago. Every time I moved I found myself setting up the same display, the static formation. I don't know, it just got old. I preferred it when my figures were doing something. A massive army still looks impressive to most people. Me, I see all the awkward poses that surround the reused Viper mold. One of my favorite things as a kid was looking at the catalogs and seeing troopers operating vehicles I'd never put them in originally Example: A Crimson Guard in any vehicle is just awesome.

Word.
Those Vipers took so much work to make useable, I gave up on them. That was the most disappointing set ever.
I still like that huge basement battle diorama that one guy did at Joe customs.

A lot of Strato Vipers. Same seller, Cobras Same seller: 107 figure Throne room lot. Even the Dreadnoks showed up. I like the eels in the boat..."hey, I'm selling my collection, I'll do a rally thing and toss in three eels in a boat." Less impressive JOE base lot.

Original 1986 Viper was flawless. I would rather have a mint original than the entire lot.

All IG vehicles, but no IG army builders. Seller wants $40 shipping. Seems a bit much, but 22 bidders didn't care. Nobody told Firefly how dumb he looked in that helmet.

I remember the IG's being my favorite thing about the 1988 line when they came out. Just a nice simple cool looking force of evil. Cobra had just become too much in my book, and 1989 took it to an extreme with all of the different Vipers, and way too much neon. The IG's were just black and gold, little red. Great color combo. Characters that didn't fall into this category bugged me (Voltar, Darklon, Nullifier) by 1989 the IG's went bright neon too with Annihalator and TARGAT, leaving me more irritated with the group.
All of those troopers do look like they are kind of laughing at Firefly to me :-)
