Hmmm... no product... movies underwhelming, the con stuff/club figures are just collector fodder.
I noticed GeneralJoes is covering non-joe stuff now. Have to keep yourself relevant somehow.
Hasbro doesn’t have half a clue about what makes G.I. Joe work, and the fans and IDW people have even less.

I guess we'll see at Joe Con.
Fandom continues to shrink. It's impossible to attract new collectors now, though. Who wants to pay $20 a figure or whatever the club is asking? This has made the hobby inaccessible to anyone with a casual interest. Hasbro refuses to make GI JOE stuff with kid appeal besides Kreons, which i think are done, because Hasbro has enough other brands they don't need to bother with GI JOE.
3rd movie's development seems to be stuck...because they can't find anyone willing to write or direct it? Or what?

Sideshow canned their line of Joe products, even before releasing Scarlet, really fucking lame. I'd get Gentle Giants Jumbo Joe's, I'd get as many of those figures as they made, IF I still had an interest myself.

I still have a desire to read the entire comic run, but my fandom is pretty small at this point

Hasbro actually revealed some stuff. General's Joes Hasbro Press ImagesThis nightmare will be a SDCC exclusive. A Joe Hiss Tank that's not Tiger Force? A Cobra Skystriker? [img src="Hasbro actu " alt=" "] Another SDCC one...Cobra Snow Cat?! I'd forgive these if they were Python Patrol? (Why aren't they?) That set with only Chuckles and the Cobra horseman will also be a TRU exclusive. No really new vehicles. A lot of multi packs, some with reissued figures. How many red HISSes do we need? I guess the Sky Striker is a night boomer for those who'll never afford the con one.

HISS tanks should be black and Skystrikers should be white (so should Snow Cats!)...it's not a very complicated formula. The guns on the HISS tanks guns look weird...not in a good way. Not into Python Patrol, never really was, except for Copperheads Club purposes. Tiger Force was a pretty sweet idea for vehicles. None of the figures for ANY those specialty groups looked better than their originals IMHO.
They should be redoing the original 1982/1983 line up. With 3-D printing technology, it's totally possible now, no excuses as Gentle Giant is demonstrating with the Jumbo Joe's. I strongly advise JOE fans to go that route. The prices aren't that bad either, way better than what Sideshow charged.
Go original or go home.
Yo Joe.

No space or interest in jumbos. I'd like them to remake the MOBAT, larger with crew hatches, etc. Not motorized, but working treads. The vehicles they are using have been milked dry, but I guess new molds are out of the budget. Maybe if they'd made a Python Tomahawk, I'd go for that. Cobra still lacks air transport. They don't need a snowcat or another orange HISS with "rail guns" (the new cannons). Awkward kitbashes, like AVAC with CG torso, look like weak customs. The "Air Viper" bonus figure with the SDCC version of the AWE Striker/Cobra Basilisk set looks like the one you can buy lots of from Hong Kong. The one I really don't get...blue Dusty and Bazooka, it's like they designed a new special team with just two guys.

The Hiss Tank in general is always a cool thing. It is retro future looking. It has a cool vibe.
Not sure, nothing stands out to be looking over these pics.

Retitled thread...because I'm a nerd with editing power. Tidbit from the 'Stank Possible Info Leaked Regarding the GI Joe 2016 Toy Lineup. Basically, all it says is that we might be getting the Rattler...again. I missed out/skipped the 25th Rattler and Tiger Rat (I'm idiot, since I never had the vintage Tiger Rat). So...

Interesting article. It's clear the new design team is just a different entity. I still don't like the new figures, I only got them for the card art, which the new figures on the old cards don't feel right to me anymore, so they're going over to ebay when I get a chance.
I picked up a vintage Tiger Force Rattler years ago. It's the only Tiger Force vehicle I have (I never even got one Tiger Force figure, ever...I like the originals just fine, same for Night Force, even the special UK and Brazil versions, I say "whatever"). I never liked G.I. JOE vehicles turned Tiger Force, just Cobra ones. And there's only so many "A" list COBRA vehicles IMHO:
Rattler *they did it* Stinger *they might have only ever done a Snow Cat and/or Vamp (can't remember), but it's kind of close enough* Ferret *did it* Trubble Bubble (not a lot to pant, hard to get the "Tiger" point across.) FANG (same deal as the Trubble Bubble, although the Tiger Fang just sounds really cool) CLAW (Tiger Claw sounds good too, hehehe) Water Moccasin *did it* Hydrofoil (Night Force beat em to it, or maybe there's a convention version probably, I think they've done every type of Hydrofoil they can do)
I've got a vintage Rattler and a MIB one from the 25th set. I lost the 1997 A-10 version when I moved once and tried mailing it to myself. That sucked, but I really liked that version. Those 1997 figures were really poor quality, but it brought back a lot of nostalgia that was unlike any other toyline that got rereleased.

I'll put this here, since it affects toys, albeit, the fan club exclusives. GI JOE Collector's Club ending? The fact the club is mum about what's going on is bad sign. But then again, they are douches.

Sideshow was my collectors club, they let me down by NEVER making a Scarlet figure that was teased in their opening video for the line. Bastards.
I don't care if they make more movies, the only way I would get sucked into buying another G.I. JOE toy was if it was a cartoon accurate 6 inch figure. Yep, I wouldn't care about a larger scale if the accuracy was spot on, and if the end result was a solid toy with a sturdy construction design.
I won't get on board with Gentle Giants Jumbo Joe's line because I learned my lesson from Sideshow. I won't shell out hundreds of dollars, just to find out their doing 5 figures and calling it quits. But really, that's not what I want. After seeing Mattel make cartoon accurate He-Man figures from the 80's, we know it can be done. There's no excuses anymore.
Anyway, there will be a new movie at some point, and it will probably connect MASK and Transformers and G.I. JOE all into one. There was some article about that. It might be cool and fun, but it won't be a toy line I will be interested in. That'll be for the new generation, not me.
G.I. JOE A Real American Hero R.I.P.

2016 Joe Con brochure is up. GI JOE CON 2016SPOILERS It's Eight Ropes of Danger...hold on, that's 12 inch. It's Sky Patrol vs. Brazilian Cobra sky patrol characters and Cobra air commandos. The amount of sucking up they do to those foreign characters. Sort of fresh blood, I guess, though. It's not like the Club's original characters weren't crappier.

I liked Sky Patrol as a kid, but I never had any of the figures or vehicles...not even as an adult. It reminded me of Battle Force 2000, which was why I liked it, but like Swindle, I have zero interest in it now.
