Thankfully my army building is limited to random yard sale finds. I've resisted the Ebay urge for over half a year now. *knocks on wood*
There were the Toys R Us MOTUC vs DC heroes/villains set that saw retail release. And some people found super discounted stuff at Big Lots (not the ones around here).
I still got a big ass box of vintage MOTU vehicle parts...never done much with, besides trade off the two Battle Bones (for Star Wars vehicle parts).

I like the movie Wall-E. If you keep that mentality, then you realize all this collecting stuff is just junk, and is on it's way to becoming worthless.
I'll probably get about 10 more figures and I'll be done. They can keep making more stuff, but if it's unrecognizable to me (Tuskador, Darius, He-Ro, Goat-Man, ect.), I'm probably going to pass unless it looks really good on its own. I'm still passing on a lot of figures that are popular, but I just don't care about them, Fisto, Sy-Clone, Roboto, Man-E-Faces, Mekanek, ect. I had the whole series of the vintage run as a kid, pretty much up until She-Ra. I would try to just walk by the She-Ra toys and glance at them a second... I was like in the 4th or 5th grade by that point and there would be no living it down if word got out that I liked She-Ra, and I already explained before how I was never able to even watch the cartoon. It would always be ending by the time my school bus dropped me off. I would sprint home as fast as I could to try and watch it. Most of the time I just saw the credits, but sometimes I got to see the end where you get to try and find Loo-Kee. I'm still watching the series on Netflix :-)
As for the figures, I really thought the vintage ones looked great, all sparkly, lol! And in a lot of ways look better than the Filmation style of figures we got in the Classics line.

Out of all the troopers, they all seem fine except for one...it's like his foot sticks just a smidge too far out of the leg armor. Not a bad on the quality. I read that a small square piece of electrical tape works really good at making the eyes cartoon accurate, I'll probably use a magic marker, lol. Their accessories are all fantastic....probably the dragon staff and bat shield make better standard weapons, and it's great they come with a cool crossbow, but I chose to display mine with the anal probes from the cartoon.

Anal probes...no wonder all the Etherians feared the Horde.
Hordak: "I think it's time to tickle the people's colons *snort*!" Catra: "How purrrverse!" Hordak: "Imp, I want to take the lead on this...go in head first, if you know what I mean! *snort*!"

lolz Bravo!
I hope Mattel has them in their shop for a while, I would go back and get more at some point. Still, this is 12 more than I ever thought I'd have, so pretty happy about that. Also happy I already have a custom Filmation Hordak and don't have to wait for Super7.

Weird...
I picked up a Buzz-Off from ebay, or as I like to call him, BEE-MAN!!!!
First off, this was my favorite heroic character as a kid...Strato's was first though, (AKA Bird-Man). I can't believe it's taken me so long to get him...I want to pick a couple more for a small Bee-Squad! I'd like to also make a custom using Clawfuls' big moveable pincher claw hands, and get the alternate head for one. I really like this guy, so happy to finally have him :-)

Filmation Mer-Man and Sorceress are cool. Indifferent to the others, it's cool they are making Karg, but this styling doesn't mesh with most figures. Tongue Lasher is okay but kinda boring. Dyamalug is weird. Horde mummy looked better on paper.

Since I've been collecting MOTU Classics, I feel like there are two separate universes....comic and cartoon.
Movie style falls into the comic territory.
Vintage/Classics style figures falls in with Filmation.
Most of my stuff fits in the FIlmation category, but I have some comic style figures, like the Red Beastman.
You guessed it, I only care about Sorceress and Mer-Man. Curious to see how/if Sorceress' wings can close. I saw Dyamalug in one of the first episodes of She-Ra....he was kind of a jerk. Tongue Lasher is a good example of the cartoon not measuring up to the toy.

The listed but as yet unseen figures are Granita (remale comet warrior) for the Classics and Filmation Man-E-Faces for cartoon. Yeah, cartoon Man-E-Faces would not be on next-to-do list. I'd have chosen...Kobra Khan or even...ugh...Prince Adam. They still need those other Trollans, too.

I'll grab the Trollans when they come out, I hope they throw Orko in the bunch, it's the only way I'll probably get him.
I've got no desire to get Prince Adam. To me, He-Man is just He-Man.
I can't remember how Man-E-Faces looked in the cartoon. I find it extremely amusing in Game of Thrones, there's the "Many Faced" God :-) I did like Man-E-Faces as a kid, but just not interested in any of his faces now, lol.
But then, I'm the fan that doesn't care about Rotar & Twistoid either.
IMO, when you do a character like Granita, the set should include those other Rock Dudes.
If they ever do Shadow Weaver, I hope she has accessories to become Light Spinner....or the other way around.
They should make a new Imp. One that is the same size as Loo-Kee. Throw him in the Trollan set.

Can't see them reissuing Rokkon and Stonedar. I disliked those two in the 80's and never got them. Yet, I had 3 of the evil Meteorbs...(which were Bandai creations that Mattel licensed, IIRC). I never owned Prince Adam or Orko back in the day either. Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the Adam thing, and Orko looked bad, and his hands couldn't even hold anything...I've gotten a couple used over the years. But if I were running Super 7, I'd make the lead cartoon cast...just in case the whole line goes belly up.
New Adventures fans are upset there's no new figure for them. I assume those aren't as popular.

I really don't know anything about New Adventures, except that there's spaceships and He-Man has a kid I think. I'll only get a character outside my knowledge zone if it looks cool to me. Crita looked cool to me. Tuskador did not. I was oblivious to this part of the hobby until recently...and I want to stay that way.
I don't care about the Rock people either :-)
I really like how Sorceress looks. They pretty much copied the pose Pop Culture Shock used. The wings don't look like they move...still better than the Mattel version. I still don't regret getting Mattels though, it will be at least two more years before the new one ends up in the hands of collectors.

Big joke today. I found a vintage Rokkon at a yard sale today. So I got him now. No gun, of course.
Brian Flynn of Super 7 says those are NOT the final sculpts or such, in particular noting that Sorceress's wings are not finalized. They may make Dyamalug less cartoony. Yeah, these are a ways off.
Any vehicles a long ways off.
Mythic Legions will have more MOTU homage releases.

Raygor looks good! RAYGORRI can only imagine him in that 9" scale that they're doing :-) Get him and the black knight, you can change all the parts and give him full armor for his left leg and left arm. Even the loin cloth is separate from the belt, easy to change that piece out too. You are a lucky guy finding the ROCK PEOPLE :-) The Mythic Legions take on He-Man and Skeletor is awesome :-)
