My old plan was to get exclusives and buy common stuff when half the people who bought bail on the collecting within a couple of years.

My current attitude is why did I ever bother? But then I look at Fangor and say "He was worth it."

I liked Stonedar because I like his name.

But any space stuff is an easy pass for me now.

Still bugs me they put moons and planets in the background of almost all MOTU art.

I just prefer to imagine He-Man as a toy for Conan the Barbarian.

A good figure will make you happy. I've pretty much tapped out on GIJoe. Maybe I end up tapping out on He-Man?

It works for Thundercats Ghost Jaga, that's about it.

I am not the fan of Slime Pit He-Man that I once was. He's alright, but Anti-He-Man in comparison, looks like something to be feared.
Slime Pit He-Man, no way around it, looks like a plastic toy, if I am being honest.

Some people are upset that "Veena" the sorceress Queen Grayskull from the 200X Cartoon that had a figure from MOTU Classics, has been erased for Osirah.
Yeah, well, aside from there NOT being one continuity, they made King Grayskull for Revelations. So I mean, they could have made Veena black/asian/latina/Gar whatever, and how would that be any different than just replacing her with Osirah? Because, no one likes to address the racial elephant in the room and pretend that we can change the race/ethnicity of a character and it's still the exact same character. I don't care for the concept of King Grayskull*.

*I never assumed the castle was named after anyone. (Is there King Snake, too? You know, whom Snake Mountain was named after? How about King Fright?) And King G-Skull makes Adam a legacy character and makes him even more special. The prince of a magical bloodline that gets THE POWER. It's elitist, so how can we relate to Adam?

Considering it's arriving now, there isn't that much hype about Eternia. Looks it's a box and how everything is packed inside. I'm reading too much into it, as many people haven't received theirs yet, but $600+ is a lot to live up to.
Of course, since MOTU fandom has no great central forum...anymore...it's a harder fanbase to read maybe.

Hasbro unveiled a new E-Wing fighter from Ahsoka for $100. Only includes new astromech droid. A pilot will come eventually sold separately. But how many fans are really getting $100 out of what should be half that or less? It's cool they are making it but...this FOMO stuff only goes so far before some people realize they are getting lemons. I'm not saying Eternia is a lemon, just that peak FOMO collector hype has to peak and then decline at some point. Mattel actually hit with Eternia at the right time. Had they tried it a year later and people would be more reluctant as they'd know the remaining vintage toy stuff might not get made (again, all the previewed stuff on the box art and we only know of 3 figures that are likely to hit this year). While Super 7 f'ed up with the Cobra Mothership, thinking a fractured fanbase would support an expensive niche item.

Display quality is also a thing. It's like the Skystriker go fund me. Some people were hyped, when it arrived. Oh, unboxing. Wow. Gee. Well, turns out the figures aren't that great. It's not going to change the world. It's just a remake of an old common vehicle, albeit an improved one. People on instagram and Joedios (ha! Near dead site!) aren't posting picture after picture of the new Skystriker...because no one did that with the old one. It's a plane. You park it on the ground or learn to photoshop.

Eternia is a better display piece for figures, but one that requires room.

Here are some rumors I saw on the internets:
Cartoon Collection - Stratos, Mer-Man, Evil Lyn & Fisto.
Fan Favourites - Scareglow, Orko, Whiplash & Mekaneck.
Vintage Origins - Rio Blast, Slime Pit He-Man & Bashasaurus.

Slime Pit He-Man is an easy rehash figure. People have been so burned on Stratos, having him in early in the toon collection, of course Evil Lyn is easy to after Teela. Bashasaurus is surprising if true.

Stratos and Merman are on Teela and Trap Jaw's cardbacks, so...
Scareglow? They are gonna milk bones dry.
I couldn't make myself open Whiplash, even though he's the less desirable foreign card.
Releasing Mekaneck carded is diabolical. But then I sort of passed up the Road Ripper when it was literally free ($20 for the set).
Orko with the purple fart base.

Rio Blast. I had him as a kid. I was between liking him and loathing him, since his head reminded me too much of the gym coach clones at the local school system. (These guys were twins except one had brown hair and the other black hair. Same retro porn stache. Both would rather be coaching football than gym class.)
