Superman and Lois on the CW...
I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
Not bad, not bad at all. The guy's Clark is pretty good and he and Lois are very much a team. They didn't emasculate Superman. So, no wokness so far. Lois had her strength and always looking for the story. We get two sons here, which is very trope-y. One is preppy, the other has social anxiety. Do they have powers or no? Clark has not told them the truth, but per usual, something happens, and turns out at least one does and we get the reveal. We also have a villain and some Superman stuff. Lois' dad, a major general, has Superman on call for big stuff. Good first episode, but as is with these CW shows, how will it go forward?

Having seen their previous performances as Lois and Clark on Arrowverse shows, I wasn't all that impressed. Freed from the silliness of those other series, they do alright. I guess I'll watch. Yes, CW shows can start strong and get medicore if not unwatchable before too long.
Not much wokeness, but someone complained that they didn't make the Kent's racially diverse. Yeah, the classic midwest farm couple.
Morgan Edge is going to be a heel, but they've sort of recast him. He was played by Adrian Pasdar on pre-crisis Supergirl , and I guess this is still the same universe?

Over Easter....
Watched 1917 again.
I made to half way into Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End. Someday I might watch the rest. It was late and said "It comes on again tomorrow afternoon...I'll catch the rest..." Then I didn't bother. Blackbeard is some voodoo master. Ummm...what?
I watched the last half of TAKE A HARD RIDE, a 1970's blaxsplotation spaghetti western...filmed in the Canary Islands. BTW, anyone who says they are spaghetti western fan, but have only seen the Sergio Leone movies, is a poseur.

I'm in the process of going through the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, going to start the third one next.
I've been watching the Stargate SG-1 tv series with my mom. Saw the movie before, but never the show. We're on season 7.

Stargate SG-1 was pretty decent with a few stinker episodes. There's two made for DVD/tv movies that end the series because it was cancelled before a major storyline was finished. Stargate Atlantis was a bit messy. I never liked the characters on it much. Stargate Universe was part of the New Battlestar Galactica trend where every other character is an arsehole and sci-fi has to be grim.

This appeared in my recommended videos. Never heard of it, 10 years old. Pretty funny.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch.Follows a group of special enhanced Clones after the Clone Wars. Pretty good, considering much of it is voice actor Dee Bradley Baker talking to himself. Had to add plucky precocious female kid with an aussie accent, though. So far she's not too annoying. Callbacks to Star Wars Rebels and obviously Clone Wars, maybe too much. Anyway, don't have Disney XD, watched it online bootleg. Can't wait to buy the toys from...oh, they all 6 inch.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. I may check it out if I remember. Feel like streaming stuff is reaching its saturation point.

I watched Pirates of the Caribbean series, and like Bravo I fell asleep halfway through Worlds End :-) I enjoyed them all though.

I binge watched a series called, "Knightfall" on netflix.
I enjoyed it, historical drama about the Templar Knights. Knights do tend to recover from their injuries rather quickly in the series... I guess God is on their side ;-)
Season 2 has Mark Hamill as the Templar Knight Instructor for the Initiates (recruits). He plays badass old man Talus :-)

Finally watched the Joker
There's a few things: The big knock on Joker is glamorization of his actions. Joker decides by the end of the movie his comedy is based on instigation and violence lead to the punchline. Comedy is subjective, he says. You don't get to decide what's funny. The other issues this film brings up, class warfare, mental illness, who society celebrates, how Gotham/New York was in the 80s with crime/urban decline, etc etc. I do think the film makes points about it, but Joker himself isn't concerned about the politics.
The third aspect of the film is Joker is not a relatable narrator. So, what is reality/what is his fantasy is all up in the air. Lionized characters from Batman lore come off badly from his pov. Thomas Wayne is an insufferable rich prick looking to muscle his way into office and an unnamed Alfred who may be involved in a coverup of a love child. Or Joker's mom was crazy and it was all a fantasy. There's a reading of this film that Joker kills himself before the climax of the film. So, its all subjective.
Ultimately, the film works as a Joker character study and his brand of comedy. There's two readings on the Joker, always. The Jack Napier/he was always bad or the failed comedian who had one bad day. This movie shows the weaker version of pre-Joker who was victimized.
Expecting this movie, which is about Joker, to make definitive political statements (Beyond, this is where we are at), is unfair. You get what you fucking deserve!
4 out of 4 stars.
(I only can think of 2 slight flaws, one where the movie pulls its punch concerning his fantasy girlfriend and another moment I am forgetting right now).

I skipped Joker.
I could tell from the previews it looked too dark and depressing, no thanks :-)
I'm glad it's good for Joker fans though.

I skipped Joker. I could tell from the previews it looked too dark and depressing, no thanks :-) I'm glad it's good for Joker fans though. Same here, but add "political" to that. I did watch clips to know what the fudge peeps were talking about. So movie spoiled, but in this case I do not regret any of it. The unreliable narrator bit seems like a cop out. My ideal Joker is a crazy gimmicky criminal clown, capable of murder but not motivated just by that. Yes, I was raised on 60's BATMAN. Still take Joaquin's Joker over Jared Leto's Hot Topic tattoo creep. I like Nicholson's Joker but it was Tim Burton's take on the character.

I don't think this Joker is motivated by murder, rather, its how he got his big break. You gotta start somewhere.
I'm surprised you both skipped it. The film is not the processing plant paint by numbers thing Marvel movies can do (Ant-Man 1 and 2, Thor 2 I'm looking at you). Top notch direction and acting.
I have seen people say, there's no way this Joker could become a criminal mastermind. My reply is, once he is off his meds, he's is much more in control, so yes, I'd say its possible. This Joker leans heavily into the performance art. So, with it comes to applying his comedy to crime, if you want to see him continue. I think its possible.
There's nothing to say about Leto's Joker. It isn't a performance and there's no script. And on top of that, the visual design is shit. So, yes, no and forever, the worst Joker.
