The Last Kingdom *Pretty good series. Game of Thrones season 6: **Minor Spoilers** I really wish Sasha the Stark Guardian had survived the encounter with Ramsey. *Fantastic. I loved Arya Stark and also how much the Bolton flag looks like the United Kingdom one. I'm not really into the Starks journey as he becomes the Three-Eyed Raven. I still think he will become a Dragon by taking over one of Dani's. 13 Assassins... Excellent Samurai movie. First hour is dramatic and intriguing, while the second hour is a full war between the 13 and , done very well. Mr. Robot Good series that combines Occupy Wall street, Anonymous, & Fight Club. The Little Prince I had to see this, the book as a kid was something I forgot all about. I really enjoyed it. Enter the Void Tripping drug movie where the ultimate high is death! :-) I read a review that said you probably shouldn't watch if you are depressed, I was very depressed at that time, and so I didn't watch it. Came across it about a year or two later, I was feeling much better, so why not? I decided to watch it. I enjoyed the movie, a lot actually, but I agree with the previous reviewer. Avoid the Void if you are depressed. Hyena Road War movie about Canadian Soldiers in Afghanistan. I was like, Canada has an army? Despite it's serious tone and message, I couldn't help but feel like it was the sequel to, "The Men Who Star at Goats"

Seen none of those. Saw Suicide Squad recently. It was okay. You can skip it at theater unless you are a either a DC supporter or a Harley Quinn fan. Will Smith of course, gets a lot of screen time. There's a villain who wants to end humanity. *yawn* Jared Leto's Joker was a big "meh" because his scenes are mostly too chopped up to even establish much of a character. Batman appears briefly a few times.
Oh, GI JOE moment, the guy who plays Killer Croc was Heavy Duty in GI JOE Rise of Cobra. In the film there's a scene where the squad assembles and the White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" is playing...which was used in the GI JOE Retaliation trailer (a dub step version of it).
That's the other thing, all these well known songs used in obvious fashion. It was kinda lame.
There's a mid-credits scene, too.

10 Cloverfield Lane - Pretty good for what it is. A woman trapped in a bunker with creepy John Goodman and some other guy.
Monsters Inc. - It's not new. Just never saw it. Ironically watched after the above movie. Goodman as a menacing human then as a friendly monster. Weird. It's good in that Pixar way, but not great.

Finally saw Terminator Genisys recently. Total waste of time. Seriously, they had some bad ideas and ran with them. It's not that it's terrible, it's watchable, it just had no reason to exist and most people agreed and it flopped. It was Arnold's last terminator film, probably. He's the only returning cast member, anyway. And that was a big problem with all the post T2 films. Who cares about John Connor, he's a different person every time.

Yeah, back when the first Terminator came out, it was my favorite movie. The second one was ell done too. Then, it all went to crap.
I actually like the Aliens vs. Predator films, but dislike Ridley Scotts Prometheus. I bet the next one will be better, but I don't really care.
Blade-Runners got a sequel coming out...I want to see it, but also wish they didn't mess with this one.

LOGAN.
Good, worth seeing but to me not as great as some say. Prof. X dropping the f word and r-rated violence.
Minor spoilers: Downside is there is much too it...kinda of a chase movie.
Set in 2029...cyborgs and automated semis are the major changes between then and now. Sounds about right.
The backstory of what happened to the X-Men is gradually revealed...and it's not that satisfying.
One villain not in the trailer was the big surprise and I didn't think it worked that well.

I'll probably have to wait to see Logan till it's on video, too busy with helping my mom and work and everything else in life.
From the sound of it, I feel like I can wait now. My excitement went from like 10 to a , lol :-)
On a side note, it always bothered me in the Wolverine comics that his claws were sometimes drawn as pokers, and other times as blades.
On another side note... I bet in the new Blade Runner (since Tyrel of the Tyrel Corporation died), the new corporation will be Weyland Corp, officially linking it to Alien(s).

I'm probably nitpicking. I have a feeling it'll probably be the best comic book movie of the year. Maybe that's because the rest I'm luke warm about. Wonder Woman? In World War 1? People wanted that? Guardians of the Galaxy was fun, but in a very safe way, I'd expect the sequel to be the same. Justice League...yeah...wait for more footage from that. Thor Ragnarock....I skipped both previous Thor films at the theater. I don't even know what Atomic Blonde is.

ALIEN COVENANT. If you didn't like Prometheus, you won't like David II: Covenant. Ridley Scott has spent hundred of millions and only made the AvP films look better. I enjoyed those Alien vs Predator movies, these last two...time for the franchise to die. I safely say I never want to know the origins of anything again. LOL.

The Alien vs. Predator movies got a lot of negative feedback, but they were great. I haven't seen Covenant. Probably going to wait until its on Netflix.
I liked Prometheus, but it dragged....a lot. It was like watching a 3 hour movie to find out why the giant aliens created humans, only to find out when the explanation was given, it wasn't in our language and there was nobody or even a cyborg to help translate. The only thing we could tell for certain was the giant alien didn't like us, and/or was very disappointed with us a species based completely on appearances.
I still think Blade Runner is only getting the sequel to officially connect that universe with Aliens.

I think people who wanted a real Prometheus sequel will also be disappointed. I'll give Prometheus credit for trying to have some different concepts, even though I didn't care much for that movie. In Covenant those themes are downplayed to lead back to the classic ALIEN monster attacking people. The character stupidity seems amped up and most of it is predictable. To say something positive, the production values are there and Fassbender's acting is decent. I've little hopes for Bladerunner 2049 (?) and I might skip it. Oh, and the theater was showing the 40th anniversary release of SMOKEY and the BANDIT. I popped in the theater to watch a few seconds. I wish I'd seen that instead. LOL. But the "bargain wednesday" prices don't included old movies like that. I guess it makes sense, they make more money on those?

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: It's entertaining. But that 70's song "Brandy" will be stuck in your head for hours afterwards, there's so much old music in that it gets to be too much. It also leans more towards comedy than the first, a few bits were too much maybe. There's scenes throughout and after the credits...it's ridiculous, but worth staying for them. I'd rate it 6.5/10.

Wonder Woman was okay. Gadot is good in the role. It's straight forward and focused, better constructed than Suicide Squad. It's a bit like Captain America The First Avenger by way of Thor. I guess the hype is because its a solo female superhero film, it was directed by a woman and is quite watchable.
I've gotten bored with the comic book movie formula. The final boss battles are just tiresome and I got tired of origin stories years ago, and every comic book film is that...they even find a way to continue it into the sequels sometimes.
Funny thing I intended to see Pirates of the Caribbean 5 but got delayed and didn't feel like waiting a hour for the next showing, I intended to see Wonder Woman...but during it's opening week.

Yeah, comic book formula is old.
The Pirates of the Caribbean has grown on me over the years, especially the first film.
I saw Bone Tomohawk recently. Pretty cool Cowboy movie with Kurt Russel.
There's a couple of films on youtube I've enjoyed,
Inner Outer Worlds (Parts 1 through 4)
and
Samadhi (Part one, they haven't done part 2 yet).

I saw Wonder Woman with a few other people, and I want to skip this topic and go straight to the review of the Star Wars preview I saw....
It looked great :-) But I didn't like how Luke says, "The Jedi must end..."
Justice League trailer, meh....I just don't care about the rest of DC besides Wonder Woman.
Anyway, Wonder Woman was cool. I liked how they did everything. One of the girls I was with didn't like it...she thought it was a little too long and boring at parts...I understand that. I think Steve survived the explosion and is in Amazonia or Atlantis or whatever it's called, and he won't age while living there :-) Or maybe he's just dead.
