Yeah, those are neat, but I can't be bothered to care, not at the prices they have to charge. I'm still annoyed with o-rings. Too many bad figures from the early 2000's. Bad because they are breaking, discoloring. Why do we think fan-funded figures will fare better? So, GI JOE as a toys...pretty low interest. We'll see if that changes. Its like Star Wars now. There's some neat figures, a few, but the price and I realized I don't give a crap about the Star Wars characters for the most part. I mean, collecting was largely about the backgrounder aliens and cool troopers for me, but I'm left cold by the franchise as a whole. The OG heroes were reduced to losers. The new characters suck or are boring. Thanks, Disney. I mean, watching The Acolyte trailer. The usual reactionaries bashing it, getting those hate dollars in and I just don't care. I don't care if I ever see it. It looks utterly uninteresting to me. It's Star Wars reduced to magic people in robes. You know that is? HARRY F'IN' POTTER. Back to Kickstarter o-ring stuff. So far few have materialized in fan hands. There's not the basic image sharing there used to be. Joe Dios is all but dead. Flickr has been abandoned by many. I tire of following instagram users.

That has to do with the shift in fandom from enthusiast/nostalgia to more collector based. Can't speak to every fan culture, but for me, it was the advent of HissTank.com in GIJoe and as it gained influence that the shift happened.
This stuff is for what can be called the oring subsecction of collectors. All in on classic style oring figs.
