I've seen that done for He-Man/She-Ra. Maybe other properties do it as well. MASS Device is great. Destro taking control at the end, great stuff.

The first 3 miniseries are on youtube. I've rewatched parts of them because it's easier than digging out DVD's.
I like how the animation mistakes (Cobra officer/troopers) mean the Viper glider pilot sort of appears in the convoy attack in Revenge of Cobra.
There's a bit of kid playing with toys aspect sometimes. Like the big Cobra robot Major Bludd sends after the weather dominator part. Where was it earlier? (In the toy box!)
The snake-headed Cobra transport plane large enough to swallow many transport copter, but it lands at the Cobra temple and it's C-130 or C-5 Galaxy sized at most.
Cobra never did reuse those water robots.
How come we never got Cobra "Snakeling" workers? Oh, because Hasbro's guy (DePriest) was a comics fan and the collector's club sucked. (And it still took them forever to make Billy and Dr Venom)

Yeah, the two-parters are up. I rewatched Captives of Cobra, my least favorite of them but I haven't rewatched it a long time. The Joe family members, Spirit gramps is a big prejudices but saves the day in the end. And Tollbooth speaks and Tripwire might have his biggest role. The cartoon RTV machine is borderline Hasbro, with its red laser guns. Baroness disguised as a male firefighter is so camp. Baroness has command over the Twins, not usually the case. I guess her clout went down after her failures.

They've added more season 1 episodes to the live stream.
Rewatching part of Pyramid of Darkness, how did Shipwreck and Snake-Eyes get from where Cobra temple was to Enterprise City in time to board the rocket ship. It just doesn't work. And that giant cockpit of the Rattler. Needed a bigger Cobra plane that Shippy and SE could sneak aboard, but even then Satin for some reason shows up at Enterprise tower. Cartoon plot conceit.
I notice how CC gets shrill and neurotic compared to earlier production episodes. 8 regular episodes were made before Pyramid of Darkness, but they were aired out of production order.

I always wanted to know what the real danger of that battle rocket was anyway. Maybe it could have attacked Space Station Delta as revenge? But I don't see how its a world wide threat.

It's hard to keep trying to take over the world and keep constantly failing. It takes its toll on you. When I first saw Pyramid of Darkness, the cliffhanger ends with Snake Eyes and Shipwreck trapped at the checkpoint about to be tortured to death. I never saw the next episode for years. And always wondered how they got out...may have been someone on the boards that told me it was Polly  I finally did get to see the episode, Polly |

Shipwreck had alot of great episodes. I like the female Crimson Guard in that. Also, the fake Polly is great.

Shipwreck had alot of great episodes. I like the female Crimson Guard in that. Also, the fake Polly is great. I love the interaction between fake Polly and Cobra Commander...there's just something about Cobra Commander talking to a parrot that's hilarious. It's almost like there's more potential in the franchise than Snake-Eyes and ninja stuff! Buzz Dixon said if he could have made G.I.JOE the movie be a two hour film about Shipwreck having adventures in Tijuana, he would have. |
