Some of us hoping for recreated o-ring figures were shit outta luck. Nice that Storm SHadow and Snake-Eyes don't match the card art. The huge accessories bubbles ruin part of the retro appeal. G.I. Joe Retro Line WalMart Exclusive Line Official Hasbro Images     I'd be down for a HISS tank or AWE Striker, but IIRC, they will be $25. When 25th began Target had them for $10. Bah. Also they've beat those two vehicles to death. Dig out that Vamp MK2 adn Stinger you made, dammit! Crankcase is still a half assed kitbash, looks like. Scalpers will eat up much of them. Though I actually saw retro Kenner Star Wars at a Wal-Mart today, not Boba Fett, of course. At $13 each, I'm leaning toward trying the new MOTU Origins instead. |

The Baroness looks pretty good, but I got plenty ninjas and I have several Hiss Tanks already.
Storm Shadow looks the worst of the three.

They had a truer to vintage Ultimate Storm Shadow from Retaliation that was hard to find. Goes for at least $50 on ebay.

That easier to do now since one of the two close one shut down in March (5 years after remodeling it into a pseudo-super center, adding grocery section). Yeah, sometimes Wal-Marts fail. They don't mention that.
Of course, there's only two major nationwide first run retailers for toys left: Wal-Mart and Target. Both are useless when it comes to even stocking anything in actual stores. I laugh when I read "Maybe I'll buy it when I see it in store." Dude, there's a whole system to prevent that.

Which Scarlett, a legit V1 remake or a whatever we have that doesn't match the card art?
I never got the V1 Cobra Commander, but he's super tall even for modern. I dunno. I really wanted a recreated o-ring helmeted CC with pliable hands.

Bugs me to death every time they jam a visor on the Original Snake-Eyes. He's wearing two different outfits in 1982 and in 1985...don't mix/match, it doesn't work or look right.
Storm Shadow looks like they expect to use the mold for Red Ninja repaints.
Card art is cool, make the figures to match it or GTFO.

Yeah, Storm Shadow looks like his in his winter pajamas. Its horrible.
Go look at yojoe.com, easy to come up with a SS or SE matching their card art with proper weapons. I do think figures with weapon dumps can be fun, but in this case, most people want the visual to look good if kept in package. In this case, just looks like a lazy cash grab.

Storm Shadow looks like they expect to use the mold for Red Ninja repaints. They did back in RETALIATION. They've been using that mold for nearly 10 years. Even I have a version of it and I rarely got modern (Dark Ninja, I think is the name) They even made a 5 point articulation version of the mold for THE WOLVERINE movie series. Oh wow, that's like Rise of Cobra with GIJoe being international, lol. So afraid of its own history.
The general peak of any great geek property, it does its best when it was run as a straight business (think Jim Shooter running Marvel comics for example), rather than all this pandering crap.

Can't really make out the quality on my phone, I can tell Scarlett's gloves are too small. Does Destro have a thin collar or a puffy one?
