I did some work on Zartan. New muscle body, painted the armor, dyed & cut the hood off the shirt. I think it came out pretty good.   I'll be honest, I'm not feeling the armor. Sideshows Zartan seems more comic book directed (I guess because it comes with a shirt under the armor), which is fine....but I'm gonna play around with the armor and see if I can't come up with something that's a little closer to the look of the original figure. |

The thing I don't like is the armor looks too ancient. Zartanz seemed more hi-tech....probably even had something to do with his holographic ability. It does have a Predator look to it, which could explain the camouflage ability.

Some updates on Storm Shadow & Flint. Storm Shadow is on the TTM19 muscle body, it's perfect! So happy about this one. Made some minor changes to his backback and swords so they are on the correct sides.   And been working a lot on Flint. His pants have been washed with a light custom olive drab paint I mixed, made a new belt and fixed the bullet straps better. Still need to scribble on the correct emblem on his beret, and I'd like to find a more detailed body, but he's come a long way.  Those are Zartanz pouches on his belt  |

The faces are so detailed, they look like they're probably modedled after a real person. Rock & Roll reminds me of Kurt Russell.

Dusty is modeled after 'Hoot' (Eric Bana) from Blackhawk down...except for the goatee. Working on some new armor for Zartan, can anyone guess where it's from   |

Bingo I didn't even paint it. It's from a figure called Blackhole Stormtrooper. Must be some expanded Universe crap. I got some thigh armor to match, but I still need to carve & shape it to make it work. I like the chest armor though, it's a much nicer fit for the muscle body I got for Zartan, and I think it looks much closer to the original figure/design. |

I finally broke down and ordered the Crimson Guard exclusive. Sideshow has a special going on now through the 31st, buy one in stock G.I. JOE collectible and receive a free mystery figure free! I'm guessing it's one of their Desert Cobras. They don't have any in stock though. It really could be anything, guess without the movie hype, these things are dead in the water. I passed on the Falcon figure they did. The head sculpt just didn't look like Falcon to me. I wanted Don Johnson likeness Bludd & Baroness look REALLY good. Destro is supposed to follow. |
