Yeah, that's why I resist Lego.
I got another newer model Hasbro AT-AT at a yard sale for $15. Missing the missiles, the ladder inside, the control panels inside, the speeder bike's mudflaps, and the view screen. No figure, either. Pretty good for kid-owned.
Last week I found an AT-TE missing a foot and of course all missiles...for $1.

Nice to see somebody post something Haven't seen Swindle here in a long time. I dig the punk rocker legos If I collected lego, I know I would get sucked into the Star Wars line. Unlike Hasbro, they've made just about every ship at some point, including all the expanded universe stuff, that's pretty cool.

Unlike Hasbro, they've made just about every ship at some point, including all the expanded universe stuff, that's pretty cool. My son has mostly city and Star Wars Legos. I had two old speeder bike sets, enough to make 3 bikes, 3 troopers, and two Lukes, that's why I have one yellow Luke, before they went to flesh. I've got the parts to make a few yellow Imperial officers. I gave the Speeder Bikes, and the other SW figures to my son. He also has an AT-ST, Anakin's ship, Grevious' ship, the rebel, and imperial pilot troop sets from, some Hoth Gun emplacement set, the newer Land Speeder set, and those tiny camo walker things. I can't remember what else.

Your kid must have an awesome time with a dad that's got the coolest toys Right now, my Star Wars collection is the same, except Bossk has the Clone Wars yellow Y-wing and Dengar has a TIE-Bomber. I think I'll paint the TIE-Bomber kind of purple and grey to match his colors. I still don't have Greedo, not sure what ship he should get...seems like he's have a freighter since he sports the vest. Bravo: $15 AT-AT , I'm gonna scream! That's unreal.

I didn't tell you guys about this from last month: Awesome vintage Star Wars findIt's so rare to find vintage anything toys, or even good recent action figures. And this Lot I paid $25 for, which I need to resell, because afterwards I was like...Do I really want to re-collect MOTU? Not really. Master of the Universe parts lotGuy had a Mail-in HISS, a pretty used one, but not a common thing. I never knew Darkseid's destroyer ship from Super Powers was so freaking big.

That Death Star is a rare find. There was one in my Kindergarten class, only time I've ever seen one in person. The Droid Factory is also a nice gem. And another Snowspeeder, plus vintage Greedo and Kenobi are cool figures. All around, nice haul.

New Millenium Falcon looks spot on... www.yodasnews.com/giant-role-play-millennium-falcon-coming-fall/It won't have the playset ability, but if you want to hang from the ceiling or just have a nice Falcon model to display, it looks like they're finally doing it. I bet it will come apart fairly easily if one wants to add lights, and the only paint it needs is weathering.

So, I read somewhere that Sideshow won't be showing any new Joe's at comic-con and that the line is on "hiatus", which going by Sideshows history, that means the line is dead. There is a possibility they will do more, maybe when the next movie comes out, but that's probably just wishful thinking. I really don't think they're selling the numbers they want.
I kind of feel like grabbing Baroness and the helmet Cobra Commander. Just on the fence right now.
I was really hoping Sideshow would have done Scarlet and/or Jinx.

Well, I broke down and ordered the Sideshow figures I don't have: CC, Baroness, Destro & Storm Shadow (not the Hot Toys ones). Surprised myself. One would think the end of a line would have the opposite effect. I may try to do some customz once in a while, or tweak figures I already got, that should keep me occupied. Trying to plan what I'll keep once my house is done. I think a Joe shelf with the flag is one of the best displays I've done, also takes up limited space. I'll do a Cobra shelf too, try and give it a look like it's inside the Cobra Castle/Temple whatever. And ninjas, got quite a display for that, and a space set aside for it too.
This seems manageable. When I try to figure out a Star Wars display, I need a shelf for tattooine, at least a shelf or display area for Hoth, a table for the Falcon, and a ton of ships to either hang from the ceiling or lots of shelf space. Hanging ships will never look right without a lot of painting and creativity added to a room. I'm leaning away from Star Wars at the moment.

Well, got all the new figures from Sideshow. Right off the bat, Baroness is hands down the best figure right out of the box. 10 out of 10, perfect in my eyes. Unbelievably great. I really hope we get Scarlet before this line disappears for good. Baroness is proof that they can pull it off.
Destro, has some really good points. It's not the classic shirtless guy we know and love, he's sort of that new comic version of Destro. Not bad, not great either. There's a guy making custom Destro suits, you pick up one of those and a new muscle body and you will have a pretty accurate 80's version. Fans really wanted the open shirt look, including myself. Also wish he had the red holster, it's those contrasting colors that made the figure pop. Really, all you want from this set is the exclusive head, boots, and gauntlets. I do like Sideshows version, I wouldn't have got it if I didn't, but I will probably try to make him more RAH accurate.
Storm Shadow: Same deal with Destro, it's not the 1988 Storm Shadow, more the new comic look. I like it. Same guy doing the Destro suit has done some 1988 Storm Shadow suits that look REALLY good. I'm going to do one of that version for sure, but I'm a big fan of the Sideshow one too. The swords are actually metal, and they have nice Japanese symbols etched in. However, his exclusive snake sword lacks the detail you would expect it to have in the snake....loses a lot of it's charm. His bow doesn't have the arrow quiver installed onto the bow, kind of sucks because the one that came with Zartan had this, you kind of had to bend the arrows to make it work, so I guess that's why they bypassed that feature. A couple of those missing details makes the figure fall a little short from being perfect. I don't know why, but I'm underwhelmed. Probably because I've seen the way an accurate 1998 Storm Shadow can look in 1/6 now. I'll probably end up doing a custom 1988 version and selling this one.
Cobra Commander: Mine is missing the plastic tray with ALL the accessories. I have to call Sideshow this morning and figure out what they're going to do about it. Other than that he looks good. The face shield is the biggest disappointment. It should be bigger, wrapping around under the helmet more. The hood head is pretty good, but the face under it looks jacked if you try to peak inside...nobody will ever do that, but worth noting...the first CC Sideshow did has a much better hood IMHO. Other than that he looks great, the uniform really pops. There is a guy making accurate 80's CC heads, going to update mine with that. All in all, a pretty outstanding figure. He's not 80's accurate, but pretty close. Same deal with Destro, it's a fine line between accuracy and what looks best. In some ways I like the first CC Sideshow did better, just a big fan of the look they gave him. All in all, a very cool figure, even if it is missing all his accessories.
Baroness:10/10, I'm just blown away by how good they did her. Destro: 6/10. Storm Shadow: 7/10. Cobra Commander: 9/10 (for the crappy helmet/face-shield).

Update on the missing tray....Sideshow is sending replacement parts! Also, a secret only known to forum members, I finally found Mercers vest. Turn the Destro one inside out, it's ridiculously perfect! And Road Pig is next!

I kind of feel bad bombarding the thread with my Sideshow collecting, I know it's not really your guys' thing. Fixed Zartanz shoulder armor! Got the replacement parts for Cobra Commander. Started on Mercer! Some 3 3/4 love

Yeah, I figured out how to make imageshack work for me again...at least for now anyway. Here's a couple shots of Sub-Zero... He's one of the best figures I've got out of the box. Joints are all nice & tight. He has a bloody stump neck attachment for a fatality display of his opponent, and some bloody sword attack gimmick that makes it look like the sword has gone all the way through the opponent. Really fun figure. Aside from doing some Dreadnok customz (and Mercer), I'll probably be focused on this line now. Hey, it's a "close cousin" of G.I. JOE according to yojoe.com lol!

Painted Major Bludds armor...now it's really Zartanz armor. CC looks good, but he's hard to photograph with the chrome face plate. The mirror reflects the top part of his helmet, making it look weird. Doesn't look that way in person.
