Found the wave 1 blue Retaliation Cobra Commander for $4 at Meijer store, turns out he was $3...25% clearance. Not bad for that price, but I;m crazy about the lines on his visor. The only other figure left was Snake-Eyes, and If I'd know he was $3 I'd have gotten him, too.
Found 3 Avengers Assemble Black Widows and 2 movie Hawk-eyes for $1.99 each at Kroger clearance, some of the cards are beat up. I'll keep a Widow and probably sell the rest sometime.

Just spent the last hour opening up these guys, must say I'm quite impressed...I'd rate these toys a solid 10 out of 10. First off, Soundwave has always been my favorite Transformer, these sets have everything. Rumble and Ravage, never had them as a kid, always wanted them. Rumble is quite articulated with interchangeable pile drivers. His guns fit into the pile drivers during transformation and can attach to Soundwave when he's in cassette mode....when Soundwave transformers in the 1986 movie, a part of him extends to plug into the monitor, that's what the pile drivers turn in to. Rumble is extremely articulated and just looks awesome.
The weapons on Ravage, Ratbat and Laserbeak transform into the cassettes! Laserbeak and Ratbat can attach to SOundwaves left arm or either shoulders. Anyway, been kind of disappointed with G.I. JOE and STar Wars lately, these guys have renewed my interest in toys :-)

Where are Frenzy and Buzzsaw?

Had to get them off ebay, the others I picked up from Bigbadtoystore, but Frenzy and Buzzsaw are on the way...along with Megatron and Quakewave (AKA Shockwave). Quakewave was a knockoff release, but has been said to be of the same quality, if not better, than the Masterpiece line. I'll probably get Starscream and call it good with the Decepticons. Oh, and Soundblaster can hold three cassettes

Nice. I'd really like those, but The Masterpiece Transformers are too expensive for me.

Nice. I'd really like those, but The Masterpiece Transformers are too expensive for me. I hear ya! That's why I'm not going to be a completist with this line, just get what I really like the most. I have the new Prime with Trailer preordered along with Bumblebee and Ultra Magnus. Hot Rod and Grimlock are also on the "want list", but for me, there's absolutely no rush to collect them. The ones I REALLY wanted were Soundwave and the cassettes, mission accomplished :-) These guys have resparked my interest in toys. I love that the Transformers classic 1986 movie is so badass, it holds up really well even today. And I love that the toys (well, these toys anyway) look like what we saw in the cartoon.

Found Retaliation Snake-eyes with Timber, Firefly 2 with HISS drone accessory and Data Viper at Ollies for $5 each. I don't even know if I'll keep them, though. I just figured I'd never see them again, especially at that price.

Frenzy and Buzzsaw came today. Everything was perfect with the cassettes except Buzzsaws beak popped off and it was the very first thing I touched to transform. A microdot of superglue and its fixed already. This was the only issue like that. No paint was chipped or piece actually broken apart. These are my most favorite transformers (Soundwave & Cassettes), and these guys look really good. Buzzsaw, probably the most underused one of them all. The free gold Lazerbeak that only came with the Generation One Soundwave. I still remember the original card saying he could cut through metal with his wings. I believe in Japan he was just "Condor" or something like that. Frenzy and Rumble, these guys had conflicting names during their release. Rumble in the cartoon was blue while the Frenzy was the black and red one. The toys were advertised and sold as Rumble being the black and red one, and Frenzy being the other blue one. The Masterpiece toys were sold this way too, except they gave Lazerbeak to Soundwave, and Buzzsaw with Frenzy (the blue one). Also worth noting Soundwave/Soundblaster can still hold Generation One cassettes.

Ollies has these Star Wars vehicle two-packs from a few years back that TRU carried. They are $20 for 2 regular scale vehicles. I got Snowspeeder and Cloud Car combo. Tempted to buy more. FOr some reason a lot of the vehicles sell for 2 or 3 times their retail price. But I've never had a lot of luck "scalping". (if you can close-out stuff that...I dunno...I think of it like clearance, first come first serve...)

WOW! Cloud Car is something I always wanted but never got. Snowspeeder is where the action is though. You can't have enough of those.

I found a Night Viper at 5 Below today. Never seen one before. I'd thought the store was done putting out Retaliation stuff.

That Soundwave and the cassettes look A Mazing! Soundwave was one of the first big Transformers I got. I've got Buzzsaw, a "laserbeak I made from another Buzzsaw, Frenzy, Ravage, Ratbat, whoever the t rex is, 2 Rumbles, one is pristine, only transformed once, he's the one hanging out in Soundwave's chest so the stickers don't get fucked up. Also have two of the Autobot rhinos, just like Rumble, the nice one is in Blaster's chest.
