What if…? Episode 6 – What If Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark - If you love Killmonger from Black Panter, you'll like this one. It's mildly entertaining but too open ended. Don Cheadle is retconned into events around IRON MAN (sorry, Terrence Howard).

Well, I watched episode 1 of Survivor season 41.
So, they got lots of covid commentary from the players and how it impacted their lives.
Jeff the host, one of the long running catch phrases for the show is 'come on in guys' at the start of challenges, but for woke reasons is dropping the guys part of it. He couldn't just do it, but had to spend screen time on it and looking for woke social credit. It was cringe.
The game is fun and a lot of interesting characters.

What if…? Episode 7 – What If Thor Was an Only Child? Comical episode, Thor and his pals come to Earth to party, soon every alien and cosmic weirdo follows them (even the Grandmaster and Howard the Duck). Earth monuments get wrecked. Captain Marvel is called. Jane Foster acts like a love struck teenager. Yes, Natalie Portman does voice her. Most of the movie cast are back for voices except Brie Larson. Mildly amusing.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 2021 - Surprisingly watchable. I mean, it changes a lot as we saw from the trailers. Eternia is very futuristic. Duncan starts out Cronis's apprentice, Cringer isn't a coward and seem older, Teela knows magic from the get go...and more.
I've seen the first and 3rd episodes because the free site didn't have episode 2.

Squid Game Series on Netflix
AWESOME!!!
SPOILERS!!!!
Highlight to read
If you like compete for your life games, this is pretty good. I've seen some other foreign films use the lockdowns to create some interesting ways to think about the world, but this one doesn't do that. And it really exposes what's going on.
It is spoken in Korean (mostly).
You've got people who have failed in life and are up to their necks in debt. These people are chosen to play a series of games, for a lot of cash.
They end up kidnapped and taken to an island.
It's basically what looks quite obviously to me to represent Epsteins island and the dark cult.
Faces verses Masks :-)
The guards all have masks.
There's three rules in the game:
#1) Players have to play.
#2) If a player doesn't play, the player will be eliminated.
#3) If the majority agrees to end the game, the game will stop.
When I read the rule list, it feels like you are part of the movie, because these rules apply in life.
So the majority of them quit.
But most return willingly.
Anyway, I've said what I wanted to say about it :-)

I'll give my thoughts on Pretty in Pink, which surprisingly I don't think I've seen (completely?) til now. I think 16 Candles seemed to be playing more randomly on TBS when I was a kid or whatever.
So, there's three themes in this movie... teenage insecurities of different social/economic groups, the wallflower gets her Cinderella moment, then the unrequited love Duckie has for Andy.
Apparently the ending had to be changed because audiences wanted Andie and Blane, not Duckie and Andie, which makes sense as the movie is Andie's pov and Duckie's love feels like an adolescent love, a bit of selfish love.
Once Duckie understands Steff is this jerk, he does get in a bit of a fight and actually is doing well before its broken up, he also escorts Andie into the prom, and then after Blane makes his romantic moment, tells Andie to go after him. Duckie does mature by the end of the movie and is confident in his love for Andie as a friend. John Hughes added a 'Duckette' at the prom to motion him over, who's quite a stunner, so I think Duckie got a good deal anyway (Hero several times over and fell into a nice date), while the female audience gets to live out their Cinderella moment/fantasy with Andie where she kisses Blane at the parkinglot.
Steff is a wonderful 80s villain, the way he says friend makes you wanna punch him. LOL. Duckie reminds me a bit of Ron Stoppable from Kim Possible in a way. Excellent 80s teen formula by John Hughes. 3 stars out of 4.

Annie Potts selling out and become a yuppie is still the most cringe. Given, she made some bad choices. But ICK! That equates maturity with total conformity. A dubious message.

Also, NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE, if you like an encompassing parody of 80's and 90's teen films. It's not as bad as that "EPIC MOVIE" stuff, but not on the level of "Airplane!", Naked Gun and Top Secret!

The reason why Scary Movie had upside is there's so much to pull out of from different Horror movies (parodying Scream, ghost stuff, torture porn, all different kind of jokes you can tell)... Epic Movie definitely on the face of it (and I've not seen it) did seem like the worst of that kind of movie.

"Meet the Spartans" was the worst one of those cheapo "parody everything recent" movies I ever saw, because it was mocking 300, but also had to parody whatever was current...none of which fit the ancient Greece setting (Spider Man 3 and Tranformers...I think? I barely remember any of it.)

The Book of Boba Fett...
3 episodes in...
1. Boba and Fennec Shand... their relationship is zero and she is basically a generic sounding board/or someone to offer suggestions to him 2. He gets a crew of cyberpunk knock offs with vehicles that I guess are inspired by 60s mod culture I suppose but look like power ranger vehicles. 3. There are no stakes. He is in a big palace with barely any security, his enemies should just send wave after wave and he'd be overwhelmed. 4. No one cares about politics. Anything with the mayor... ZZzzZZZzz.
Go Go Book of Boba Fettttttt!
