I think in the book, the Bran stuff lands better because it is very much lore building and getting into the mystical side of things. It works better reading it than seeing it. The tv show wants to sell you the politics and characters, so Bran isn't exactly in the tick of that stuff once they are off.
The trial was very bad, but it is quite interesting how things just land, things that built up for Tyrion where he gets the blame despite doing so much for the people and that city. I'd also say once Tyrion leaves there and is off to Dany, in some respects, its kind of the end of him as an interesting character as him interacting with his family is a WHOLE lot more interesting than being an advisor to Dany.

I can see the books being more fun with Bran and magic.
Even the three eyed raven tells him, "You will fly!"
Really a missed opportunity not letting him become a dragon. Final seasons seemed like the show creators were stressed how to end the series.
Season 5, starts with tearing the idol from the top of the pyramid. But the shows opening keeps it in on the map...this shows me that they either cut costs for the digital effects department, or fired people who were more knowledgeable of details like this. Winterfell has the Boltons banner on it, but they missed this other detail.
Most of this seems to be about the religious cult, and the Boltons. Danerys struggles to lead a peacefull society without slave masters.
Dorne has an interesting Viper tower on the opening map. Reminds me of the tower in the Eternia playset.
Tyrion was right about losing his mojo if he left Kings Landing. But he still survived. Almost as if he is meant to find Danerys. She seems to attract the right people to her. Kind of leads me to believe she really is the rightfull heir. Whereas Stannis resorts to witchcraft, and fights everyone and seems to lose pretty much every step of the way. I haven't got too far in the season, but I think sacrificing his daughter was his undoing.
Red Woman creepily tells Jon Snow, "You know nothing Jon Snow." Which was something just between him and Ygritte. Red Woman is really creepy. She tells Stannis he just needs to have faith. Perhaps that's what the Red Woman does, constantly tests his faith, he always thinks he needs her help...when he would probably be better off telling her, "Nah I got this, I'm good. Whatever happens. See ya." Instead, he does whatever creepy thing she asks him to do...To me, a King leads...but with Stannis, the Red Woman is in charge.
Jon Snow keeps his vows to stay with the Nights Watch, and doesn't go to war with the Boltons. He makes the old guy head Ranger, and kills the other guy for disobeying his command. I did like that Jon killed Mance and refused to let him be burned alive. Surprised Stannis didn't chop off his fingers for that like his did his main guy, "Ser Davos?" I can't remember his name.
Cersei having the cult take the Tyrell son prisoner was a bold move to get out of the wedding. Margery holds it against the King, who is just a scared boy. The Lannister days seemed numbered without Tywin managing everything.
Arya goes to faceless master school. She fits right in.

About halfway through GoT season 6, I really want to customize Mythic Legions for the Nights Watch, haha.

This Mythic Legions figure, Atilla, has a Jamie Lannister look going for it. And this Ogre, is remincent of The Mountain. I'm on the last episode. Danny is out of control. Sansa crying over Theons death...I don't think she had those feelings for him. Danny mourning Ser Jorahs, yes. He was like her father. Mysandras death was sad. Bronn is awesome. Survives everything. Took on a dragon and lived. A true Sell-Sword. I felt sad and pity for Cersei in the end. The Hound falling with the Mountain. They had a good fight. I'm glad the Hound was able to finish him off. Arya has no luck saving anyone but herself. Jon was an idiot for trusting the girls...but they are is family. Jamie's fate was sealed when he abandoned Brienne. This was his last chance at redemption. When Cersei and Jamie find the tunnels sealed...sad. Jon forced to attack troops that surrendered, witnesses firsthand Danny burn innocent people...he knows what has to be done. He is the shield that guards the realms of men. The giant crossbows on the castle at Kings landing look vicious.

Arya really had no story imo once she made peace with her sister. I always thought she should have died during the zombie stuff up north.
The Hound and the Mountain was probably the best long term feud the show had. And no matter what, it did pay off.
I thought Jaime's end made sense, he did love his sister.
In the grand scheme of things, raising one capital city with a Dragon, is it out of line with Danny's family history? But Jon was raised as a Stark, so his sense of justice is different.
I'm on the tail end of season 1 of Cities of Gold. What happens is Mendoza steals a cannon from the Spanish troops to curry favor with the people at the high peak, but they are prepared to kill him and Sancho and Padro, but Esteban does show up right at that moment and is able there to force Mendoza to give him back the rest of his medallion, this is why you came here, right? Mendoza does grit it through his teeth, yes, lol, but he does take it in good stride, you outwitted me, and what was yours is yours again. The high peak is overtaken, but that leads the kids w/Mendoza and side kicks off with further clues where they find the Golden Condor you see in the intro, another creation of the people of Hava and allows them to really get rolling to further on in there quest over land. There still some tension as Zia in particular is very mistrustful of the adults, but Esteban kind of sees the good in Mendoza. Esteban is clearly the 'hero' as he is always trying to protect Zia, and will do what is right (against killing enemies in cold blood), and is the one who gets to fly the Golden Condor. Esteban and Zia are clearly a couple in waiting for when they get older, Tia is more your third wheel/idea guy, but sometimes you can see his announce at Esteban and Zia being unbreakable while he lags behind. The adults and their greed for gold also starts getting outright called out by the kids, but Mendoza replies, one day you may find yourself caring as we do. LOL

There's a lot adults could learn from childs innocence and value on material wealth. Goldon Condor is sweet. Reminds me of MOTU Point Dreads Talon Fighter 8-)

I'm on episode one. Pretty hardcore. Father dies. Grandfather dies. He's forced into heights which is traumatizing to him. This is a clear form of abuse on a child.
The whole story SO FAR, reminds of the book, "The Alchemist".
The educational bit at the end, explains Mayans performing human sacrifice on girls, kindly drugging them first, to worship their God the sun.
The music and the end credits with them flying, so awesome.
This cartoon was on another level.

On of my favorite human moments for them is when they make it to the island and they dance for a bit but then they all fall onto the beach in complete exhaustion

I'm on Episode 14/15?
Esteban got the missing piece of his medallion back from Mendoza :-)
It pained Mendoza to hand it over, but he at least values his life more than gold.
I liked when the kids met Tao, and he kept pushing Esteban out of the way to talk to the girl.

There you are, the two parts of the medallion are now together and at last it is complete.
Very nice visual framing. Where they first speak of this great adventure, Mendoza is above Esteban and withholding an item of his as a carrot on a stick as well as the possibility of his father. Then you get to the episode where Esteban is able to force Mendoza to give it back, the power structure shifts and Esteban is now above Mendoza, showing firmly Esteban is the central hero of the story.

Spoilers for season two... ... ... Here's the villain in the 2012 series, Zares, who is speaking with I believe its Charles V the ruler of Spain. He is after the cities of Gold, not for the gold itself, rather its tech to help Spain's expansionism and military conflicts. At the beginning of season 2, Zares confiscated the gold Mendoza, Sancho and Pedro got in season 1 and had them thrown in jail as bait for draw out the children (knowing they'd eventually need their help to find the six other cities). Zares also knows he can't just take the kids medallions, so he'd rather just tail them. Mendoza does say that some call him the man without a face. He is massive and someone you don't want to mess with. One more pic of him:
