The Blue Big Boa actually looks pretty good. I think a big problem with his original version is the colors. Giving him a more muted color works better.

I will no longer respect a Hero that wears a mask that covers their mouth.

Favorite vehicle
Although I've never had one, right now my favorite is the Tiger Paw.
I blame COBRA for making everyone wear masks, so I don't have any favorite COBRAS at the moment.
But I have started to come up with stories for the maskless COBRA's.
The Crimson Twins are the 1% Elites who don't have to wear masks.
Same goes for the Baroness.
Dr. Mindbender has come up with the vax to control humanity.
Crystal Ball is keeping everyone in a state of fear so they comply to more restrictions without question.
They make Cesspool test the sewage to find bacteria to try and prove covid is real.
Raptor is making sure Extensive Enterprises gets bailed out...again.
Zartan and the Dreadnoks are still cool.

I'm so burnt out on GI JOE that I don't have favorites.
2020 might be the first year in...20+ years that I did not acquire a single Cobra army builder figure. I think the only GI Joe figures I got were Valor vs Venom Hooded CC and 25th IG Destro from that one garage sale. Never saw the Wal-Mart retro stuff.
So my favorite Cobras are Cobra Commander and Destro!

Big Lob is also my favorite at the moment because he reminds me of David Goggins.

One thing I like about Big Lob is how lanky he is. Nice to see a basketball build in GIJoe.

I'd bring up one of my favorite episodes of GIJoe: A Real American Hero... The Gamesmater, a character that's a riff on idiot savant toy collecting man babies. Always thought he should have had another appearance in the show. The reason he's on my mind is I'm been doing a X-Men re-read and it just occurred to me he has a bit in common with Mojo, who's always about good tv and forcing the X-Men into the starring roles.   You always play into the old trope of body mass directly representing the idea of excess/greed/want/selfishness, which in today's woke world, you can't get away with. Definitely wish I could find a good stand in for The Gamesmaster as a toy for my smaller joes. |

He had the right amount of absurd and creepiness. I appreciate Sunbow's attempts to have over the top elements more and more. GI JOE as a super realistic property isn't that much fun.

Favorite Joe of the moment: Mercer.
He quit Cobra because he didn't want to wear a mask anymore and they had a mandatory vaccination policy.

I do think his backstory of hotwiring a hydrofoil to get off of Cobra Island is pretty cool. A proto-version of him as a Viper appears in I think Grey Hair and Growing Pains.  However, version 2 figure of him reminds me too much of William Riker. |

Favorite character at the moment...
COBRA COMMANDER
For a long time Zartan was at the top of my list, because he is so cool.
But every time I hear Chris Latta do Cobra Commander, it makes me smile :-)
He really has so much character to him, appears in almost every episode, and really is the main reason the show and the line succeeded as long as it did IMHO.

Also, Shipwreck is favorite Joe at the moment.

Its interesting as much as Hasbro pushes Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander has become the front man for their haslabs (starting with the Cobra hack of the Skystriker)

Cobra Commander is the man of our times, a lying cult of personality type with fanatically devoted followers who lie, steal and cheat for him. One wonders why anyone would be that devoted to a person of questionable competence and/or intelligence, a man who asks for so much and gives little to nothing in return.
