I haven't really poked around on Evilface much lately. Wasn't sure how active he was since he stopped answerign emails a few years back.
Damn, the last things I submitted were 8 years ago, right before I lost my house.

So, last year I got the Fangboat on clearance when Retaliation got pushed back. ( still don't have an original Water Moccasin).
I deceided it needed to be more Dreadnok-ish.

This is pretty much it, till I find something to replace the stupid missile launcher with.

I think that was one reason why I passed that boat up. I guess it would've broken their bank if they included both guns so collectors could make a normal version.

The other reason was the pond dried up and I'd have no place to take pictures of it at.

I've been back at work a little while now, and so I went crazy at recent K-mart clearance sales and now I have 4 AT-ST's ($15.50 each!) and there's pilot and ewok packs that are $5.50 each. Also, I have almost every Hobbit 3 3/4" item, except the big Goblin and the 2-pack with the big orc (K-Mart never carried them). I paid less than $30 for all the Hobbit stuff. $2 a figure and $4 two packs. I even got some extra goblins, though, I'm not crazy about that character's appearance.





The AT-HISST

Picked up a Crimson HISS (PoC) at Toys r Us for $15. Never owned any version of that HISS, and I got tired of seeing it there and wondering if it was any good. It's not a bad vehicle, the rear cockpit is a bit odd, though.

I could've gotten another JOE item of equal or lesser value for 50% but the most interesting figure they had was Red Ninja, who looks like a decent figure, but not that interesting. Besides, the new figures are giants next to most of my old stuff.

Since Wall-mart still isn't carrying GI Joe, and SW:TOR has piqued my interest in Star Wars again, I looked at the Sw figures at Wal-mart and they had Aayla Secura from the vintage line. The bubble was crushed and the card was mangled. At first, I thought it was a repack. In the package, all you can see is a robe, and her head.
After inspecting it carefully, it looked legit and I bought it.

It had a flyer with a Darth Maul Statue giveaway that expired 8 months ago, and it didn't ring up. I can't see it hanging around on the pegs that long, somone must have returned it
This is the first SW fig I've bought at retail in about 5 years, adn I'm pleased with it. I think I've opend a can of worms with this.

Nope. I mean that's possible, but the truth is Hasbro's distribution has been bad and/or stores refused to order new cases (Phantom Menace related stuff plugged up the pipes again), that stuff that should've been on shelves a year ago is still arriving or just arriving at retail. You aren't a current Star Wars collector so you've "missed out" on the frustration of finding stuff at retail or even online for a decent prices.

The 3 figures made from TOR game go for crazy money. The Republic trooper was online only in the USA. Darth Malgus' wave is still appearing at retail (one figure per case, of course ), but he's $30+ online. Mandalorian woman isn't much better. (i stopped looking at their aftermarket prices months ago).

If you have 5 Below stores out in the west coast, they have some figures for $5, mostly just the (no longer exclusive) Wal-Mart The Phantom Menace wave, but that wave has a few decent figures like movie Aurra Sing, gungan soldier and tusken raider.

I was looking at Aurra Sing, Darth Maul, and Savage Oppress. Not sure who he is. I wouldn't touch gungans, but a decent Tusken Raider woudl be nice. I've got 2 POTF ones, and the POTF Bantha & rider.

This is kinda more about what I didn't get.
I stopped by 2 yardsales on Saturday. At teh First one I got some near-new Etenis shoes and two Lego sharks, some undersea pod and a headless figure for $2.25. The sharks are the newer big ones with chompy teeth.
Now, the second place, I was looking through a tub of toys, and found 3 Star Wars Transformers. X-Wing, DV Tie and the Republic gunship. They were missing some stuff, I casually asked the kid how much? "A dollar each", He says. he then proceeds to help me dig through the tub to piece them together. After some digging, we came up with the limbs and a few weapons. X-wing is missing two guns, and the lightsabre. Tie is missing, wings, lightsabre, Gunship is missing... a lot. But still for $3...As I dug I also found some SW figure stands and some guns, and a couple of errant Lego bricks. How much for all this, then? He waves his dad over and asks him how much he thinks.


"35 dollars? Those Transformers are about $15 new..."

My inner monlouge thinks, "You Fucking Dickhead! That's new, not loose, incomplete, with crayon marks and dirt all over."
I'd dug through this tub of dirty toys for about ten minutes and gotten my hands sticky, so instead I just say, "That's more than I even have on me. How much for just the stands (aboout 12 of them) and guns (5)? "$10"

If I told people what I was really thinking, I'm sure I'd be in and out of jail. Stuff would just escalate out of hand. That's what keeps me polite ;D

The dad was being a dick. You don't sell toys for that much at a yard sale or garage sale, unless you got some actual collector shit. A tub of dirty toys doesn't qualify.

I would have told the guy I was gonna give your kid a few bucks for this junk, but if you think your getting $30, have a nice day.

Really haven't been collecting anything lately. Just busy as hell at work.

I was at a yard sale last weekend where I dug around for 15 minutes trying to get Star Wars stuff out of gobs of random toys. I had to stop and buy what I found. I did ask the kid if he had the rest of a camo AT-RT and he did, so I got that whole. Also 7 MOC figures, mostly clone wars, for $20 total.

I got part of a transformers gunship today, missing arms and legs and more. It was in a bag with a clone wars Freeco speeder. I didn't want the rest of the stuff in the bag. Somewhere I have cody/turbo tank missing parts, too, and a transformer Vader (tie fighter?). I'd be willing to part with them. I might just bag them and have my dad sell them at his flea market booth. I got too much junk around here. (adding more weekly! )

Can't beat 7 moc figures, plus vehicles for $20.
Friday at work, a bag was laying in the street. after watching cars swerve around it for 2o minutes or so I figured I would be the only one to go pick it up.
As luck would have it, it was full of toys. Mostly crappy meal toys from the 90's and earyl 2000's.
Among other things, a bunch of Toy Biz LOTR stuff. Amazingly the bag was never hit, and my findings include a 12 inch Aragorn, and teh regular figures of Aragorn, King of the dead, Arwen, and one of teh guys from teh Helms deep battle, not sure who it is. They seem to be complete, and in decent shape. Arwen has nothing, an doesn't look like she would hold anything anyway.
There was also mini figures of Frodo, Samwise and Aragorn that fit on lillt stands, only had the stand for Samwise, though.
I also kept an old Little People Queen. Its so old, the body is wood, and a figurine of Jasmine and her Tiger. Probably sell it all sooner or later. the rest went in the dumpster.
