I'd like to do more repairs myself. It gets ridiculous paying probably 1/4 as much as the pick-up is worth. But the devil you know...
I'd thought about doing the fuel filter myself, but...gravel driveway, crawling under there...and anything that deals with fluids under pressure. I read about how to do it, but reading and doing aren't the same.

Weekend finds: K-Mart 50% off clearance, I thought they were all gone locally, but I got another AT-ST and 2 more driver two-packs. The AT-ST is great at falling over in warm weather. Found a Clone wars droid fighter missing half the wings, I found the body at a thrift store then looked around found one wing...then another...then after scouring shelves and digging in bins of random crap NADA. The place is a pit (their other location is worse). They make their money on clothes and everything else is a shelfed up shit, sometimes the toys are bagged which is not a good thing since that usually means there's one part or figure with some crap they've marked $3. They also have strange prices written in some sort of crayon or marker...I paid $1.07 for my item, before tax. At a far classier Ann Arbor thrift store, I found a red Cobra BUGG jet ski things with one missile attached. The cashier had some half giggle at me buying what to her was some random piece of plastic. 27 cents well spent to me, though. I admit I found some price sticker to stick on it, since their stuff is either in taped up bags, stickered or floating loose in bins. I wasn't gonna steal or flag down someone to get a price. And speaking of bugs, I got bit on a toe by an assassin bug or kissing bug while taking a shower. Must've flown inside the house sometime. HURT LIKE HELL...buring needles. Blood sucking motherfucka! In South America similar bugs transmit some parasite that causes terrible problems...but in Michigan I might be okay. Bummed around Plum Market and Whole Foods for their free food samples. Bought jack squat, their prices are crazy. LOLZ. I went to Whole Foods to see if they had a can return machine, because I have a few empty bottles/cans of their brand (naturally I didn't have them with me). They did not. So I have to make sure they are clean when I do take them back to their service desk. I'm sure I have enough deposit bottles to buy half a slice of their fresh made pizza.

I always wanted a Cobra Bugg. Loved the water stuff, and the Bugg was just so neat. I've come close to splurging on a MIB one before. Always wanted to load one up with Hydro Vipers and somehow have a few Secto Vipers operating the main controls.
I pretty much only eat at work. It's a vegetarian bakery cafe. If I do the late shift, the cooks make me a special pizza. Customers try to come in and order, but we're closed, only I get to eat, hahaha! I get to take home oatmeal, beans & rice, burritos, loaves of bread, and I get special orders for cases of chocolate hemp milk. I hand deliver bread to the local co-op when I bake in the mornings. It's the only time I go inside a grocery store anymore. The girls get turned on because I smell like bread. It's weird. I get the same response if I walk into a store after sitting by a camp fire or barbecue. That's when random girls take a deep breath up close and say, "You smell good!" It's the real life Axe Body Spray.

Found a Star Wars Clone Turbo Tank missing parts for $10 last weekend. Had the driver inside, too.
Target Retaliation clearances in effect. Got the 3 pack with Mouse in it for $10 and a single card Cobra trooper for $5 (the parachute interested me). I figure the 3 pack I'll either open or resell someday.
Hiss and Ninja cruisers are $13, not cheap enough for me to get.
Part of me regrets getting anything, because it's nice to not to care.
Edit: Opened the Cobra trooper, he has a lot of potential. He can sit well and holds his gun decently. If only he were 3 3/4", and had ankle articulation. The parachute has instructions but fails to mention the hours you will spend searching for his helmet and/or removable pistol. He's more of how I enivision a Cobra paratrooper than that Para-Viper.

The parachute is a bit too small, the figure falls to fast. The best 3 3/4" parachute is still the Fisher Price Adventure People one from the 70's.

I have no idea what the fisher price one even looks like. Best use of parachuting toys I ever saw was the TRU display for the WWII 12inch G.I. JOE's. Where they hung them up through these plastic domes. I swear they received the most positive feedback from any one who walked by. People would always look up, pause, and then say, "That's cool!" I was going to attempt this display with those Elite Force 1:18 figures. I got one of them, never hung it up even.

I got my yearly used Darth Vader TIE Fighter for $3...this one is complete. Hailfire droid missing all weapons, $3 (not sure that was worth it, but it even out with the other two vehicles) AAT droid tank missing only 2 missiles, $3
Empire At War Gold Edition for $1. I think my computer can run it.
Grievous Fighter, no missiles, 25 cents Anakin's modified clone wars fighter, missing everything, 25 cents Vader no cape or helmet 25 cents comic pack chewbacca 25 cents some playmobil guys for no reason other than they were cheap (so I tell myself) 75 cents for 5 of them
broken BIG JIM PACK cycle for free and some other crap (like 1;18 th scale broken Jonny Lighting hot rod). Finding 70's stuff is rare.
Saw the Retaliation HISS at target for $10...still couldn't pull the trigger...almost...probably be gone before it gets cheaper than that.

Got a $6 Retaliation Hiss tank at Target, last one they had. It's not as bad as it looks in pictures, but it still kinda sucks more than it should. It's the gap between the top part and the chassis. Take out that gap and you'd have a better looking ride. I don't miss the working treads from prior versions, since they never worked right on the last HISS. If they could've gotten to roll smoothly, then I'd be for them.
The Cobra Commander included is a frustrating 5 POA toy, of course. It's like the tank, not as bad as you'd think but still frustrating for 5 POA. His legs can't go up to a right angle sitting pose, fortunately the tank only requires him to lean back. At least his head can pop on better bodies, something the new Star Wars Legends/Mission series doesn't offer (and I understand the reasons why...kids lose the heads) It's still odd that making an entirely new limited articulation figure is cheaper than recoloring an existing one, but damn you, Chinese labour costs!

A friend of mine bought me a Star Wars Lego set for my birthday, the A-Wing. It comes with Han Solo and Admiral Ackbar, as well as a generic rebel pilot. Akbar has a coffee mug for some reason. I always thought Empire vehicles were better display items than Rebel vehicles. This isn't going to be any kind of favorite item of mine, but its the thought that counts and I enjoyed putting together a lego for the first time in who knows how long. Pic taken with my PS Vita.

Legos have come a long way. The A-wing and the figures look good. I almost started collecting Lego Star Wars ships for a couple reasons. 1) The scale is accurate for most of them, and 2) They make all the vehicles, even the expanded universe stuff. For the most part, the Lego Figures are as detailed as they need to be for pilots. The only vehicle I haven't been happy with from pictures has been the X-wing, but a good customizer can fix that. It's mainly the guns I have an issue with. The other thing is, as a kid, I made all my Star Wars ships out of legos. Was fun blowing up Tie-Fighters and crashing them into a bunch of pieces. And by the way, hope you had a Happy Birthday

Lego is awesome. I just don't have the room for them really. I'd like to get the TMNT and LOTR sets, but they're also 'spensive. My son loves Star Wars Lego. he has mostly those and some city sets.

I suspect Star Wars Legos are more popular with kids than the action figures and Lego handles the line well. Though, IIRC, they are limited in terms of releasing mini-figs by themselves because that would make them "action figures" and conflict with Hasbro's license. So that's why the smaller sets include tiny vehicles, even made-up ones.
As fun as they are, I cannot get into Lego. It's too expensive and like Playmobil, there's no end to it... forever will it dominate your destiny.

Last weekend, I got 5 Avengers Movie Deluxe Chitauri for super cheap at Marshals and TJ Maxx. The figure is under-articulated, so I might just resell them all. They were too cheap to pass up, though. Two weeks ago the Star Wars destroyer droid with the plastic "energy" shield that doesn't work that well. And you need two to complete the shield Got these guys off Ebay from a Chinese seller. If they look odd, it's because they have the convention Skull Squad trooper head (red mask), Crimson convention set Baroness's right arm and the crimson Viper's legs. The colors match up better in person. Seller had some CG's with Baroness legs, but that too strange even for me. Anyway, they were cheap ($10 for the lot with free shipping). And it seems have all sold, I doubt they'll list anymore.
