Mark Hamill had said he disagrees with almost everything his character does in the next film. Not a good sign. Some supposed spoilers I read point in the BAD direction, but who can believe them?
Justice League trailers haven't shown much of interest yet. They are still acting like Superman's return will be a surprise, I guess.
Weird part of Wonder Woman is that the DC universe, the Greek gods are real and apparently Zeus created humanity. They do make Ares a rather Satanic entity..hating mankind and trying to corrupt them The problem with him is that as a supposed God of War...if all of humanity dies, who's gonna be having wars? I guessed Ares was the British dude...he was too nice to Diana and she immediately noticed he was talking peace.
One card they did not play was Diana's father being Ares. I was a little worried, because her mother was weary of Diana finding out the truth, but the real truth is that Diana is WONDER WOMAN! LOL.

Spider-Man Homecoming.
Not bad, not bad. I skipped the last two Spider-Man movies at the theater, so I was on the fence about seeing this one. I'm not crazy about teenage high school bullshit, but thankfully it's not too annoying in this movie. Tom Holland makes a good Peter Parker, not as creepy looking as Tobey McGuire or pushing 30 like Garfield was. Michael Keaton makes me wish for a Dark Knight Returns movie with Keaton. Gratuitous cameos by Robert Downey Jr, John Favreau and what-his-name as Captain America... There's an all the way to end end-credit scene but it's an actual joke.
I rate 6 out of 10. Do I rate anything over that? Or under 4? I dunno...either a movie entertains me and doesn't annoy me. Not much impresses these days.

I loved that guy as Spider Man in Civil War, thought he nailed the part, and actually made me believe in Spider-Man again...I'll probably have to wait for DVD, just too busy too actually go to the movies these days, but I'm excited to see it. .
I saw Bone Tomohawk. There's one pretty gory scene, but it was a good movie, if you like Westerns and if you like Kurt Russel that is.

I like older westerns, most newer westerns always feel like they are trying too hard to say something. I re-watched the second half of The Outlaw Josey Wales the other night, my dad's favorite western, that's always been a solid movie.

I love that one, but I like all of Clint's Westerns. My favorite line from that movie is when he confronts three Union Soldiers and when a civilian bystander blows his cover and yell's, "That's the outlaw, Josey Wales", Clint looks over the eyes of the soldiers, there's a long silence and he says, "Well are you gonna pull pistols, or whistle Dixie?" :-)
Bone Tomohawk is worth the watch ;-)

Saw VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS.
I was curious if it deserved to the bomb that it is...financially, anyway. The answer is yeah, kinda. There's some interesting visuals, but the lead character isn't interesting or likable. The story isn't that interesting, either. Lots of the attempts at humor fall fail. I liked the the first 15 minutes or so, which includes a montage of how Alpha (the city) came to be. Rihanna appears for at most 15 minutes.
5 out of 10 at most.

Sounds interesting :-)
Netflix has Rogue One on streaming. Re-watched that again. I like it, it's good. I feel a better intro for Tarkin would have been recreating the Emperors arrival in ROTJ, and have the main villain in Rogue one say the exact same line Jerod says to Vader but with a hint of sarcasm. On top of that, I feel they should have kept Tarkin minimal, like they did with Lea at the end.
I'm sure there will be special editions of the classic trilogy where the droid in Rogue One K2-SO gets added in somewhere. Probably all black Storm Troopers as well. Gotta collect those. Still, K2-SO, and kind of reminds me of Bender from Futurama.
They kind of kept the whole Jedi thing out, except for the monk.
The main battle at the end should have been "The Battle at Tenab" that Lando refers to Han about in ROTJ. It also would have been good to see the Millennium Falcon just "there" as part of the battle.
Also, they should have used some of the older vehicles more. Like the Imperial Shuttle. The Rebels infiltration vehicle should have just been a TIE-Boarding Craft (I think it's the same thing as a TIE-Bomber).
The ending sequence how the ground forces (and a lot of the fleet) get killed is what I expected ROTJ to be more like...as a kid.
Also it's important to note the Rebels are murderers!!! The Empire has a reason to exist! First Rebel we see kills another rebel to save his own hide...(and the intel...uh huh), and all Storm Troopers must die! Y-wings disable a Star Destroyer that is out of the fight, and the Rebels force it to crash into the shield thing and blow up! I get why Vader would be mad at the Rebels, those guys are punks :-)
Despite my nitpicks, I think they did a great job, one of the best Star Wars movies there is.
I do feel for the Rebels getting whooped by Vader at the end, and even though I KNOW they have to get the plans out...part of me cringes like they might not, it's an intense scene.
In the scene in the trailer with the TIE-Fighter flying by Jyn on the catwalk, I'm sure that was Cassian

How do you have Lando at Tenab and Han still have the Falcon? There's no time.
I don't know why they created a new shuttle for Krennick. New for new's sake, like the Scariff "shore" troopers, which seemed odd because the impression was the planet was entirely under Imperial control and they have sand colored armor, when the Empire don't give a fudge about camo even in war. K2-SO is presented as a common enough Imperial droid, but seen imp droids in the OT, the "Death Star Droids" and the harder to see ROTJ droid that's similar to EV-9D9 (AV-6R7, never made as a figure!) Why not use those? I dunno.
I haven't rewatched it but I think they overthought it. It should've been a heist movie or Dirty Dozen type movie. The internal rebel conflict should've been Jynn being a straightforward freedom fighter vs. Cassian's assassin style, she thinks he's a murderer and he's thinks she's a naive idealist. Instead, they made her dad the Death Star chief project leader, even though the damn Geonosians had it all figures out years ago! (Maybe not). It could be more topical in that sense.
Someone pointed out that since the movie Rebel base was on Yavin, everyone captured from the Rebel fleet (at least Raddus' ship) knew and interrogating Leia alone was inefficient of the Empire, since they'd have dozens of other prisoners who'd probably break easier. But if the movie base were on Dantooine, they'd have had to have packed up and moved out within a couple of days?

Dantooine...yeah.
Tenab...you're probably right, but there's nothing that indicates Lando used the Falcon in that battle ;-)
Or, Lando and Han could have both been operating the Falcon that day. Maybe Han and Chewy were the gunners.

DUNKIRK.
Christopher Nolan movies are usually worth seeing. This one was. It was probably more impressive in IMAX, but I'm too poor for that.
The Germans are barely seen, other than their planes. There's little characterization, it's not some old war movie drama like that. (There's pratically no female roles in the movie.) It's a survival movie mixed with air combat. It was effective, as I left the theater on my way back to my car I kept an eye for the Luftwaffe.
The soundtrack has elements of a ticking clock...it'll either annoy you or amp up the tension.
Solid 7.

BLADERUNNER 2049.
I really liked it. It's long, like 2 hours and 44 minutes. It's slow paced, like the original. It looks great on screen.
Also, the theater remodeled some and they have reserved seats...which threw me off..but they are electronic recliners with a tray table! Never been to a cinema like that before. It was nice to have a place to set the candy I snuck in.

THOR RAGNAROK - Fun movie, best of the THOR movies. Why? Because with a single line it jettisons the love interest crap with Natalie Portman who didn't even want to do the second one. So there is no love interest story slowing things down, and like OCEAN'S 13 missing Julia Roberts, that improves the movies a lot. Let's face it, the real love story is Thor-Loki!
The villains are better than most Marvel movies, Cate Blanchett (Galadriel gone bad!) as Hela and Jeff Goldblum as the Grand Master. And Hulk is more than a cameo, and probably the best use of Hulk in any film yet, including and especially his solo movies!
I rate it 7, it's not a deep movie but it entertains well. I never much cared for THOR but I'm glad I saw this one at the theater (i skipped the previous 2, saw them on tv).
There's a post credits scene, and mid credits.

I still need to see Bladerunner...and Thor. I did watch the previous two. I've argued that the actor who plays Thor would have made a great Anakin Skywalker. At least the chemistry between him and Natalie was good. However, a girl I met a while back convinced me the choice for Hayden Christensen was good because she always thought of Vader growing up as kind of this kid that never got what he wanted, being a jerk and socially awkward.
Hulk shouldn't change back and forth from Bruce Banner. This was always a bad idea to me. Just needs to have a short temper.

Finally saw Bladerunner. I liked it, think the original's better, but it was cool.
Also saw Spider-Man Homecoming. I enjoyed it, especially his homemade costume.
Netflix has the Punisher series on instant, I binge watched the whole series in two days. Some parts were boring, basically anything without the Punisher in it. Punisher was awesome. He healed really well between episodes though.

JUSTICE LEAGUE - Not too bad. Kinda short compared to some recent movies. Some say it felt like a DC animated movies they release direct to video. Maybe, but the movie has 3 previous films to give it back story, while those animated ones seem to be one-offs and change voice actors every time.
Steppenwolf is kind of a meh villain. Another CG rendered world beater with monstrous legions, I say that on the same day the Avengers Infinity War trailer came out...and what is Thanos, CG with CG army of monsters.
After Commissioner Gordon (JK Simmons) mentions how much damage the team did to something, I then expected him to mention Farmer's Insurance covering it.
6/10, it entertains, but never jells into greatness despite a decent cast. Mid credits scene is amusing fluff, after credits scene is cool cheese.
