One of my favorite moments in the She-Ra mini-series, when Adora is reunited with her parents, King Randor tells Adam he's made him the happiest man the happiest man on all Eternia. Prince Adam forgoes credit most of the time to keep his secret and is seen as a bit lazy, disinterested by Teela and the King, so for him to get that recognition was great, I suppose the end of the Prince Adam story arch in some ways.
When dealing with old properties, you gotta remember, its parents who loved them back in the day that introduce them to their kids. Social justice politics, I don't know if the average person wants that kind of stuff in a kids show.

BUMBLEBEE - Seems like a do over of the first half of Transformers 1, but in 1987. Obligatory 80's music, including Tears for Fears "Everybody wants to rule the world", one of the most 80's of songs. "You've got the Touch" appears briefly. That's a spoiler. The battle on Cybertron is less than 10 minutes of screen time, don't be fooled by the trailers. For some reason Soundwave is leading the Decepticons, even though SHOCKWAVE is right there, too. Oh, and this film is kill happy with the bots, it's not quite THE MOVIE kill happy, but close.
Hailee Steinfeld is good as obligatory troubled teen (i'm not familiar with her as a singer), while John Cena is a big walking HAM. He's amusing, but I dunno. These felt like standard characters, along with annoying kid brother, awkward guy with a crush on Charlie (the girl), clueless stepdad, overly concerned mother, etc...
One anachronistic thing was a character using the phrase "carjacker", which I think wasn't even a phrase until the 90's. Also, the girls' hair styles seem spotty, 87 was the age of aquanet.
A 6 out of 10. Honestly, it's not bad, but if you miss it at the cinema, it's no great loss.
PASSENGERS: Pretty good. I skipped it at the cinema.
6/10, looks great, but in the end there's really not much too it.
13 HOURS: About Benghazi, well made. Michael Bay is a good director when robots aren't involved.
7/10 just for the action.
So Travis Knight should direct Transformers movies and Michael Bay should go with real life action movies.

I do think the Transformers series is damaged in terms of the movies for so long have been soulless, even if Bumblebee is supposed to be better, I'm not sure people are interested at this point.

AQUAMAN - I heard it was overstuffed and too long, but I disagree. It flowed well enough, better than Man of Steel or Batman V Superman. Certainly more interesting than Suicide Squad, too. I think the DCEU is just easy to pick on. Well,, Aquaman made a billion dollars.
Momoa isn't the best actor, but he doesn't need to be in this movie. Amber Heard is quite the dishy fishy. I liked that Black Manta was full on comic book villain looking.
The digitally de-aged Temuera Morrison at the beginning makes me want a Clone Wars movie. It's funny that former Batman movie stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman both played similar roles in 2018 super hero movies, both had scenes where they were digitally de-aged.
I give it a generous 7/10.

I want to see Aquaman, but I'm broke, glad that DC movie is doing well. Marvel needs a counter point on the movie stage.
Watched: Demolition Man... fun 80s movie. Nothing too deep, but enjoyable. Sandra Bullock is a fun side keep character to play off of Sylvester Stallone. 3 out of 4 stars.

DC Universe has the first episodes of TITANS and DOOM PATROL free until March 29. (And Young Justice Outsiders, but you can find that free easily)
TITANS: Dreary Vancouver doubles for Detroit...which can be dreary, but not every day even in the fall. It's a violent show with foul language, not for kids. It's not bad. Starfire is not what one would expect.
DOOM Patrol: The more interesting of the two, about a team of outcast "freaks". Timothy Dalton is great. Brendan Fraser found a great comeback project. It's almost enough for me to sign up....or get a free trial once the first season is finished.
Edit: CAPTAIN MARVEL: Ignore all the negativity, it's another good MCU movie. It might go overboard with overplayed 90's songs and references to "future" MCU events, though. There's mid and post credits scenes. As usual(?) the post one is silly. 7/10...I guess.

SHAZAM!: Pretty entertaining. A lot of kid/teen stuff as many of the characters are teens/kids...that's not my cup of tea, but it's not badly done. A bit darker than trailers would have you think, in terms of the villainy.
Mid credits and post credits scenes. No spoilers other than mid one is important and post one is fluff/humorus, similar to recent Marvel movies.
6/10...I guess. It's maybe better than that, I'm getting jaded.

I saw a movie on the plane, 20th century women. I wouldn't have watched it on my own, but the last next to me watched it with the subtitles on and I saw it had Black Flag on the soundtrack, so I gave it a watch.
Kind of reminded me of Almost Famous in a way. It hit home for me being raised by a single mom. The challenges the kid faces I think any male can relate to. I enjoyed it.
Spoiler alert......
The kid doesn't get the girl he's in love with. I felt my heart break along with his. I know I've been there before too, who hasn't? There are scenes where he's riding his skateboard, like he's going to get through all of the madness in life by just riding through it. I needed to see this movie.
The Martian... Also watched it on the plane It waa purely about survival. Pretty cool movie.
I saw a couple others but I can't think of the names One was like the new mutants in X-Men, but it wasn't a marvel movie...
The other was a list apocalyptic sci do one where the female scientist is trying to solve the environmental plague happening in earth, she meets a guy and he is just trying to catch the last shuttle off earth. It was okay. If I can remember the names I will post them later.

Avengers Endgame: Good but Infinity War was better. This one falls back on...I cannot spoil it...hard to say anything without spoilers. There's some plot holes but a lot of character moments.
No mid or end credits scenes!
8/10

I got everything I wanted out of Avengers: Endgame. Hard to say where I rank it in Marvel films.
I'd say Iron Man, Capt Winter Solider, Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame are my favorites.

I probably won't see it till it's on netflix...maybe if it's still in the theater when I get back to Oregon in about a week or so. If you guys want to talk spoilers, it's cool. Some jerks possibly ruined it for me reading comments on a YouTube video that had absolutely nothing to do with the movie, or the topic of discussion. It was pretty lame.

I watched Cobra Kai on YouTube. > signed up for the 30 day trial and wa5ched both seasons for free. I really enjoyed the show, it brought back a lot of 80's nostalgia. Good series, I recommend it to any 80's fan or Karate Kid fan.
It's basically about Johnny, the guy who lost against Daniel in the first movie. He's putting his life back together, and helping a younger generation be "badass", lol :-)

Yeah, Cobra Kai is fun. I think there's a lot going for it. Johnny is very rootable.
You should check out Stranger Things on Netflix. It taps into 80's nostalgia as well.

I saw the first season of Stranger Things on Netflix, and I liked it. Just never got around to watching it more. I still need to see the last season of game of thrones. I will have to wait till I go back to Oregon, I can't seem to watch it on my phone. I guess I am meant to eat c it on a bigger screen, lol :-)

Season two of Stranger Things is very fun. A few new characters and changing dynamics.
Watched The Matrix for the first time in maybe 10 years or so. Still holds up. "Mr. Anderson!" Never gets old.
